Think this reflects both how far we've fallen as a club, but also how his reputation has taken a hammering too. Only way this is seen as a positive is if we finish first, and there are so many ways is blows up on our face.

This thread is 10% about Martin and 90% pure frustration at the club and the last few years of pain
its a very grim read and tbh the amount of hatred on this forum isn’t good for anyone’s mental health
everyone has an opinion but it’s turned into pure mob mentality hatred
the worst thing we can currently have this guy for is not liking his tactics or a crap spell at rangers - or quite simply he looks like a smarmy git - none of the above crimes of the century against us but the personal and even semi constructive comments are still well over the top in a negative way
I know my football as well as anyone and have seen the last 30 years as much as any of you on here and the continued negative outpost of hatred right now just doesn’t help anything or anyone
And yes this is a forum and yes your entitled to your opinion but let’s at least try and keep it constructive- would you talk to the guys face in the way you do on here ? And if you would your a really crap example of a decent human being
I’ll be giving him a chance - I don’t love the appointment but now it’s done the negative and hatred has to stop - take that into the ground again from August and it will be another tough place to be on a Saturday and I don’t want my young daughter to hear it or see it again this year - we as a fan base are as responsible as anyone to change the feeling around the place and it has to start somewhere
This is only another reason the decision is dumb though, they have chosen a manager who was guaranteed to keep the place toxic.

He'll still be here because we've learned no lessons. If we have any sense we'd let him go to anyone willing to pay his wages. Don't know where this myth has come from that he's some brilliant player.

Relegations are not good, particularly to the third tier. But it was another opportunity to recognise that we've been on the wrong path, to rid ourselves of the elements holding us back, and have a bit of a reset. Again we've decided, no, it's everyone else who's wrong.
I guess Cardiff and Birmingham have had success with possession based football in league 1 recently. If he gets us back to mid table Champ in 3 years then that's probably success. That's very much the ceiling here though and the toxic atmosphere is only going to persist with Martin in charge.

Don't think Scotland were great and a draw was probably a fairer result, but winning was all that matters. Very decent chance of getting to the knockouts now.

That reminded me of old Leicester Vs new Leicester. A team with bodies on the line, happy to defend and happy to counter. Against a team without a striker who overvalued possession.

1. Has a clear style and methodology
2. Long unbeaten run at Southampton ending with a promotion in a season with 4 strong teams
3. Style proven to work in league 1 with Brum
4. It's been on the cards for us for a while, might as well get it out of the way

I'm shocked they're claiming it's not a proportionate punishment. It's exactly proportionate to the game you were caught spying for.

It did appear that Tonda had instilled a shithouse mentality there during the playoffs. Was surprised watching their antics during that game to be honest with the ball boys and stuff.

His methods are good at ensuring his team beats teams they should beat (the wobble for us aside). At Man City he will have the best resources and so I can see them certainly finishing top 2.
His record against teams around his or better was quite poor though I thought. We took 2 points from Leeds and Ipswich. That could well be the difference between a title or not and I'm not sure I envisage him getting a better tune out of this Man City squad than Pep.

The rule wasn't in place when Leeds did it. That was what caused the rule to be added. Southampton have then broken that rule. No sympathy for them.

I appreciate me putting on Sky Sports News is my own fault, but why are we still discussing the VAR disallowed goal against West Ham? I would have loved Arsenal to have bottled it but it looks like a sensible decision. Seems the TV channels try to confect controversy.

Parker could walk into a top end Champ job no problems. Think Martin's options will be above where we're at too.

On social media over the weekend someone asked a fan outside the ground how they think we will do next season and his response was ''well... we should walk the league?''
Do these people never learn or just thick?
I think people will be in for a shock when they see what team we have left by the end of the summer window. It will be very much a league one side I think.

This highlights the challenge next season. Everyone is going to be gunning for the team with the fancy training ground and big wages.

Danny Ward doing Danny Ward things. They were bigging up Torp but as he was lining up I was thinking "just hit the target mate and it's in".

I get what your saying mate and believe it’s fair comment.Especially paying your hard earned money too go and watch players that aren’t giving their all and picking up a wage too do so, slaps us all in the face.
However I’d very much expect there too be quite a substantial clear out of the current starting 11. The new lads are going to need the support no?? The new lads will have had absolutely nothing too do with the abysmal position the previous crop of “supposed” premier league quality players on premier league salaries stealing a living infront of our very eyes and getting us relegated.
Of the new lads when they come in might well be useless but they need too be given a chance, they need too be given our support, just how I feel pal.
Let's certainly hope so. A clear out is needed to show that lessons have been learnt. But I'm not holding my breath. Lessons weren't learnt 12 months ago and we've just repeated the greatest hits in terms of mistakes in running a football club. When Andy King is taking the first pre-season game we'll known lessons haven't been learnt again.

Precisely why they are plasticReal fans “have enough” but F me we keep going!!
why?
there’d be no club otherwise would there, that would be a fabulous outcome wouldn’t it…..not
I go with my 6 year old, what message does it send too the youngen’s, what message do I send too my 6 year old if I say “nah, it’s crap now lad, we’ll come back when we are winning again, that’s how you support a Club”
I want him too love the Club like I do, through thick and thin.
Ownership is Ownership, the Club is the Clubmorons who can’t separate the 2 are morons
I’ve been too the Protest’s against the ownership (without my little lad) and I’m disgusted with where we are.
but we need too support as much as we can now
I don't think it's about coming back when winning. It's about coming back when we have a team who tries again, one who is willing to potentially give up possession to create an attack. One who leaves the pitch at 90 minutes knowing they gave their all. You could equally argue this is teaching your 6 year old a bad lesson...that you can put in little effort or application and there is zero consequence, in fact you individually may get promoted. I thoroughly enjoyed the last league one campaign, but I can't go and support a group who continue to slap me in the face every week.
Us season ticket holders have been treated as mugs by the higher ups and fan loyalty is just treated as a given. I get why people want to go, and the relegation perversely may make some stick around for the reasons you suggest. But I don't think this is the route to positive change anymore.

Feel like Bristol will punt for Martin.

Wouldn't mind James Morrison if WBA decide to go elsewhere, just because he ticks a lot of the Nigel Pearson boxes:
- Boro and West Brom connection
- not had permanent managerial job
- manager of a relegation rival who survived
-
Have cancelled. Think it's probably been about 16 consecutive seasons up to this.
-
Wanted Millwall to get autos but they were shite. We're being relegated from an abysmal league.
-
If you drop down but are on a sound financial footing, you can probably just carry a squad which is too good for the division and hop back up as a mid-table Champ team. We are not in that position.
Fire sale will get rid of bad characters but will also starve us of quality. I'm expecting us to finish somewhere between mid-table and playoffs.

Clearly woke them up. They should have started like this. Look very good at times.
