Think that's why we are going on Juve's opinions of him and they aren't good!
I'd guess he is slightly better than they are suggesting though and wouldn't begrudge this signing like some are
Not sure about that looking at his "highlights" on YouTube. Highlights of most players usually make them look better than they actually are. This guy looks very average at best, on the highlights I've watched. If these are his best bits, it's a BIG no from me.

Him and 'Wells' were, IMHO, the best two players ever to don the blue shirt ...... The fact they were in the same team is ridiculous !!!!
Not forgetting Lenny Glover. Great characters and great days.

I also read somewhere that he'd been dropped.

A central 3 of Ndidi, Silva & Iborra should dominate most midfields in this league, providing Silva looks as good for us as he does for Portugal and has for Sporting
Not sure about most midfields, but that lineup is certainly capable of dominating a lot of them. Watched a lot of you tube vids of Silva, albeit in an inferior league, but he does look a class act. Will be a great addition to our squad/team imo

Theres lots of conjecture of course Col ... but isn't that what forums are all about.
No one really knows what Rudkin gets up to but from piecing together evidence what can we strongly assume ...
1. There is a problem at the moment that is more than just 'we need a new manager'.
2. Our recruitment has gone from very good to very poor.
3. The players appear to have more influence than they should (Ranieri out Shakey in).
4. Shakey was probably dismissed too early ? ... why ?? .. someone thought he could do the job (FACT .. or they wouldn't have offered him the job) ?? ... why did that person(s) change their mind so quickly when it was patently obvious that he had an incredibly unlucky start ... only towards the end did he really started to mess up and maybe, just maybe, enormous pressure built up and no one gave him any assurances (maybe they could see what was happening and were already sharpening their knives to stab the scapegoat and thus cover their own failings ???). Remember Shakey didn't want DD to be allowed to go and the one new recruit he busted his balls to get on board (having meetings with him and his parents) was Maguire ... he played absolutely no part in the Silva fvck up. Would things have been different with DD and Silva .. of course they fookin would ! I'm not saying that Shakey was the right man but SOMEONE thought he was !
5. Walsh wanted some recognition/promotion for what he did ... he found that at Everton .. why couldn't he find it here ??? How is Macia coming along ??? Couldn't we call him DOF (Recruitment) and put him on the same level as Rudkin ??
I'd say there was enough there to AT LEAST conclude that there MAY be a problem with the person that has overall control ... imo the owners (BOTH of them) need to spend time here (not in Thailand) and get to the bottom of it ... asap !
Spot on

This is the major problem for me.
He hasn't exactly excelled at the role he was in before DoF, granted we've had a couple of players come through. But none have set the world alight. So how the hell has this guy ended up at the top of an ambitious, supposedly forward thinking club? The recruitment suggests he is totally out of his depth and there is not a chance he can be cleared of blame for the Silva debacle. We wanted this guy a year ago and he somehow can't get the deal tied up in a year since our first interest. It's hopeless.
That goes for Macia and Whelan as well. I've heard several stories of Whelan's incompetence and it is frightening how out of touch she is with what the club requires.
We're riddled with inexperience at the top level of the club and this is costing us,
This exactly

Football Operations DirectorFFS, how many football directors have we got? Never heard of this guy!

Because he's the director of football and he's in charge of all transfers? Ultimately the responsibility lies with him. It would have also been on his watch that stupid statement was released about Silva trying to get more money out of Chelsea.
Also how many of those players from that successful academy era are now playing at a top level?
He's not very good at his job but he's very good at keeping it.
Couldn't have put it better myself. He is the "DIRECTOR OF FOOTBALL". Consequently, all of these football related fcuk ups are ultimately his responsibility, but the guy's invisible. Owns up to fcuk all and says fcuk all. The changes at our club need to start with this tw*t before we're completely bolloxed.

Yeah totally get that and I agree..... My idea would be to get in a new DOF to work with him. To ensure we're getting the right players and not overspending for them.
I think a new DOF should be the first change we make (although I can't see this happening anytime soon). We might then make a better decision on the appointment of a new manager, which needs addressing sooner rather than later imo. I still believe that Shakespeare got the backing from Rudkin, and the subsequent nod, as he posed no threat to his authority or (bad) decision making. Whereas I'm not sure his position would have been as comfortable had a stronger character or bigger name been appointed after Claudio.

What a load of horse s*** .... yes he's a winger and guess what he crosses the ball over .... and as for "he should be whete aston villa is now" .... have you forgotten what this player did for us ..... how fvckin disrespectful.
Very fvcking disrespectful. This guy has never given anything less than 100% for us and should have been pushing for a place in the England squad during our championship winning year, as me and many others on this forum were saying at the time. Yeah he didn't have a great season last year and has made a poor start this year, but you could also lump the rest of them in that same category, with one or two exceptions.

While I agree with these sort of threads, it's these posts that I don't get.
Why is he "our best player ever"? After one great season? Consistency is key in Sport and calling him "our best ever" isnt fair on players like Izzet who delivered year after year.
We've had some superb footballers down the years - Lineker, Izzet, Lennon, McAllister, Weller, Worthington etc - I think I'd struggle to pick a "best ever".
From the footage I've seen of Weller his ability was unreal. And them days pitches weren't perfect and balls weren't as soft.
Weller was and still is my fave leicester player of all time. Always thought he looked a bit peculiar though in the white tights he wore in the winter.

Even though I was fairly young at the time I still do miss Filbert Street. Maybe because it's holds so many fond memories growing up.
I used to stand in the kop with my dad one game we were playing Nottingham Forest and their fans started throwing coins into the kop. A police officer had to pull me out and put me on the side of the pitch and I ended up being a ball boy. After the game I remember my dad saying "don't tell your mum what happened"
Also this is still one of my favourite songs.

So many amazing memories.
1st game in 1968, sat on the wall at the front, running on the pitch with the other kids at the end of the game, I then panicked wondering where my big brother was (luckily he kept an eye on me).
Leatherhead in the FA cup.
Beating Oxford Utd to NOT get relegated to Div 3 for the 1st time ever.
During boring games, someone shouting CELTIC, then someone shouting RANGERS, people separating, then a fight starting.
Andy Peake's goal against Liverpool.
Lenny Glover on the wing.
Robbie Savage 'stage diving' into SK1.
Sitting (I always stand) in SK2 with my 6 month old son on my knee (my wife had to go somewhere, I had my son, I wasn't going to miss a game).
Must stop now, I could list a million experiences. The thing is I know you young'uns think we can be a bit nostalgic, but I have great memories of Filbert Street.
I am developing great experiences for 'Filbert Way' such as Everton last season and the European nights this year.
One last thing,
At Filbert Street we sang 'When You're Smiling' properly. At a nice slow pace, with the correct hand waving at the end.
Lenny, Lenny glover oo oo. Hello Hello Frankie wortho Frankie wortho.

Some great memories from filbert Street. My 2nd ever game 1972, 2-0 down to Liverpool and Keith Weller hat trick to win 3-2. I'm sure Liverpool won the league that year as well. Best hat trick I ever saw at fb, Dennis bergkamp 1997 and Walshies equaliser in injury time, what an atmosphere. The kop in those days was something special.

I'm not sure how many people will agree with me on this but I quite like Danny Murphy. Level headed and talks a great deal of sense.
Couldn't agree more. seems to have no axe to grind or point to prove and talks more sense than the rest put together.
