Love that a Cov fan seems to have a better handle on our club than a good deal of our fans lol

    @Sky Blueshas been very sound

I have one question, is Hadji Wright actually good? Every time I see him he looks like hes got all the tools aside from being able to kick a football in the opposition box haha.

Gives me Jeff Schlupp vibes... strong, quick, but questionable ability on the ball. The most memorable thing I remember him doing is skying a 1v1 at home to Everton then getting a rock on :schlupp:

One argument I’ll never get is fans saying “we’ve seen us at our worst” or “It’s been worse than this” as some sort of own to younger fans.

Our only ever relegation to the third tier was only in 2008. So anyone who’s probably as young as 24/25 can have clear memories of us at our worst actually..

Can confirm at my ripe old age of 25 I remember the relegation to league 1 and Gareth McAuley (?) hitting the bar away at Stoke... Sadly my age prevents me patronising people online, but I'm not sure I'd want to proudly tell anyone I've seen us sh*t before and I'm A OK with seeing the same again. It's clear as day we're being (mis)managed into a hole we may struggle to crawl out of again, and it's not through sheer incompetence, but a complete lack of care and apathy - King Power out all the way

Monga is good but not generational. Rio Nguhoma and Max Dowman who are doing it in  the prem at the same age or younger might have something to say about that

Strange one this, Nguhoma who has played 1, ONE, premier league minute (yes scoring a goal) and Dowman who has played a grand total of 26?

  4. Does really well at times holding the ball up, getting the team up the pitch, then all he has to do is pick a pass to one of the 3/4 players in space... but time and time again he seems desperate to do it on his own and get a shot off regardless. I lost count of the number of times today I was screaming at him to release the ball, the worst occasion being when he decided turnung back and taking a shot from close to the touchline instead of laying it back to Winks to potentially make it 2-1 was a better decision. I just find him so f***ing frustrating

Not sure if posted elsewhere but brilliant video. Perhaps one to show the players now?

Not sure I ever expect to love and relate to a team as much as I did to that 12/13 - 15/16 squad, some limited players but ones you knew would give there absolute all week in week out, Nige being the absolute legend he is and obviously Ranieri capping it off with the Premier league... if this squad, or more so the 22/23 squad, had even half the hunger and passion then we wouldn't be in the state we are now

Regarding his goal v west ham................just wondering, if he had just pulled up and jogged back instead of carrying on and scoring would VAR still check the offside???

There'd be no reason to check - if he didn't go on with the ball and instead pulled up and stopped then it would just be a plain old offside, nothing for VAR to check as there's no 'other' outcome if he stopped

  7. Bizarre thing is I heard as we were getting cooper he was meant to be great at developing the younger players, yet... we're signing geriatrics, and he has seemingly decided Nelson / Braybrooke / Alves aren't even worth a look at? Buena coming off today for us to revert to 3 holding midfielders, would throwing Alves on to push for an equaliser really have been any worse?

Guess I'm just dissapointed, I thought if nothing else this season we'd have some young up and coming talent to look at, some hope for the future in place of doom and gloom, and the way it looks now we're settling for a season with PL has beens Ayew and Bobby DCR

Ticket revenue should not be included in FFP. It gives clubs an excuse to make ticket prices extoroniate in order to generate extra income in order to compete. Needs to be looked at urgently

Agreed, it does next to nothing when you consider the actual earnings across a season generated by ticket sales, but gives clubs the opportunity at a thinly veiled up yours to the fans who will be easily replaced by the tourist fan spending X amount in the fanstore each week, sad state of affairs really

The facebook comments are full of I'm alright Jack types.

I've just been scrolling through this exact comment thread and it's actually massively disheartening... quoting FFP and previous price freezes as justification for a whole demographic of our fan base literally unable to afford to support their club any longer. No wonder the fans get fleeced when the bulk response on there is to follow like sheep and 'fvck the fans that aren't as well off as me'

One foot out the door, unfortunately we've not got any depth in midfield to shove him in the ressies and see if a prem team still wants him to stink up their midfield then

To make it even worse I'm pretty sure it's his left one out the door... and we're extra fvcked if we're left with his right

  11. Despite how raw everything is now, I have absolutely no doubt one day he'll be remembered fondly for the moments of brilliance he provided.

I almost wish his last moments for the club were following the fa cup win, he could genuinely do no wrong in my eyes at that point, he'd completed the dream set for us as a club and was a shining light. The last season and a half has somewhat tainted that, to the point I'm not sad he's going right now, more ambivalent, but I do hope if we bounce back I can forget the last couple of years and look back with Rose tinted glasses.

    A couple of observations:

    - Selby is there to win, not to entertain. I can't say that I find the tactical style of his play overly entertaining compared to other players (but that's on me) but I do appreciate how his all-round endurance game wins big so often. He's like Djokovic in that regard.

    - If Selby wasn't from Leicester, there would be far less people on here defending his style, because tribalism. That's just the truth.

I've got to agree he's almost ruthless in the way he sticks to his style and wears down his opponents in a war of attrition.

I actually enjoy the tactical element of his games, I find the methodical nature of some of his frames fascinating, in the way he's relentless till he sets up an opportunity, however... I find the amount of time between shots quite tedious, particularly as he regularly addresses the shot, I focus on the screen, just for him to shake his head and start his planning all over again :frusty:

Annoy might be an understatement, but drunk drivers. Got t boned late on Saturday night turning right from burleys way onto St Margaret's at about 40mph as a guy who blew well over the limit ran a red light... suffice to say I'm counting myself lucky, and I hope anyone who drives over the limit grows a conscience at some point

Follow up to this with some more positive news, I'll be back on the roads finding more things to annoy me everyday after Copart wrote the car off (CAT B) and insurance paid out a pretty good amount, only about 400 short of what I would want as a best case.

Off to Manchester on Saturday to hopefully pick up a nice tidy new to me c class and a 2 hour journey of complaining about idiots in the 3rd lane of the M6 back

Where they on scene? Did they actually attend or did the response para decide not to ask for back-up?

I'd be very, very surprised (and ashamed) if you weren't assessed on scene once an ambulance response had attended. Even if it was the responder and not a full crew, there should have been a proper assessment.

I've been solo responder to traffic collisions many times and I always did an immediate clinical assessment of the casualties before a crewed ambulance arrived, which is a basic requirement of triage on scene. It's fundamental to their training.

Only the response paramedic attended, nothing else further than that. I wasn't thinking particularly straight at the time to be perfectly honest, I was extremely shaken up and a mix of gutted it had happened with pure anger at the cretin who did it.

Only assessment I've had is through my private health care at work, as I regularly drive vehicles at 130+ mph and my fitness for work needed to be assessed. Only advice I received was take some paracetamol and ibuprofen at home from one of the police officers after going through formalities and breathalyzing me at the road side

Not surprised. It could've been worse in a less sturdy vehicle.

Just a point of personal interest, I note an ambulance response car in the background. Were you assessed on scene by paramedics?

I wasn't no, which did somewhat surprise me as both the witnesses and my dad, who came out to collect me, commented on the fact I did seem shaken up and a bit everywhere

This sounds dreadful for you fella - where does it leave you insurance-wise?

Cars a total loss, copart are collecting tomorrow and should receive a valuation from there. Annoyingly as he's uninsured I don't get a courtesy car as costs are unrefundable, got a doctors assessment this week too as unsurprisingly I'm feeling pretty worse for wear

Ooof, glad you are OK. How did he manage to do both sides of your car? or did you get cloncked into somebody else?

He smashed into passenger side and knocked me into the pedestrian crossing/traffic lights and back into the road.

Now been told he's been charged with:

    - theft of a motor vehicle

    - driving over the limit

    - driving with no insurance

    - driving while disqualified
