  1. Derby only draw. Northants gives us a decent chance to stretch things and they haven't been pulling up trees.
  2. Trevaskis deserves a run. Never go back.
  3. We've been in control of our destiny in all three games so far which is a marked improvement on last season. Full bowling points and 12 out of 15 batting points is some going as well.
  4. They'll need to get the Indian players in to stand a chance of it taking off outside the UK. They are hindered in the UK by city allegiances. A Manchester team is a hard sell in Liverpool, a Nottingham team a hard sell in Leicester and Derby etc. With a bit of luck the 12 (inc Yorks) who haven't got a stake will make a fist of marketing the Blast so well with the money that it canabalises any chance of the domestic audience of the Hundred growing.
  5. I see the Hundred could be going to the dogs, what a shame.
  6. I'm the same, quite like listening to Richard Rae on the radio, there are plenty worse out there and for a lot of his tenure he's hardly exactly had much success to work with. I remember a few years ago we folded against Gloucester, i think at Cheltenham and he held it together really well whilst the Gloucs commentator was pretty out of order and sounded drunk, the new Gloucs commentator is much better mind.
  7. The bump up in membership price is financially inept. I'd get some sort of membership to support the club despite living 100 miles away but not if they are on the fleece. They are also over-egging the effect of membership subs. 800 members at, say, £150 a year brings in the chicken feed of £120,000 per annum. 2,000 members at £100 brings in much more. If you look at how other clubs are adapting it's about sweating their assets, bringing in much better external revenue (not daft concerts) and if you look at what Lancs are trying to do, courting an overseas benefactor in the form of an IPL team.
  8. That road at Bristol made for dull cricket. Middlesex and Yorks winning does us no favours but 3 to go and not out of it.
  9. Great session that on the field we're really going great at the moment. As for that price rise, after Sean Jarvis's open letter last week it's not clever at all, in fact imo it's terrible business sense when you are trying to entice people in.
  10. The grounds massive, we need planning for apartments on the far side to generate a dollop of cash.
  11. We have a really nice blend to the squad at present. I know other clubs have more other players away at the moment but 5 years ago we never looked like: 1. Being a breeding ground for young talent. 2. Competing well in the four day game. 3. Being holder and in the last 4 of the one day competition, the 50 over format being one we were woeful at (despite the Hundred). 4. Taking the blast qualification down to the final game. We are attracting a much higher calibre of overseas player. Thomas and Taylor are a fine young coaching outfit.
  12. I've paid for the stream. If they want to charge they have to make it much better quality.
  13. I love the fact that the Hants commentator is calling our batting dull. Sorry mate, bitter much?
  14. Happy with that. We need calm heads and rotating the strike for the first 20 overs.
  15. Great stuff Trevaskis is better than Parky, great bit of business
