  1. Tell him to go to the corner of Sloper Road and lexkwith road, turn right, walk under the railway bridge by NP station, keep going a couple of hundred yards to cowbridge road east. Plenty of pubs/caffs/shops
  2. Both stations are about 1/2 a mile away from the ground, literally nothing in it. No pubs en route apart from the Sand Martin behind the canton stand https://www.sandmartinpubcardiff.co.uk/ on game days though, you can only buy alcohol if you're ordering food. The Egg chasers will probably all be in the city centre, that said, the pubs in Canton will also be very busy with City fans. Best chance of finding a pub is on Cowbridge Road East, I'm sure you'll get a decent welcome from home fans. This link to the club's website should give you some more info on specific contact details, travel advice etc https://www.cardiffcityfc.co.uk/club/visit-us/ Ticket office number is 033 33 11 1920
  3. Pretty sure that from Leicester you’d have to change at Cardiff central anyway, but usually room in the NP train, if there isn’t your ticket would be valid for grangetown
  4. Train to either Ninian Park or grangetown. Ninian park would be closest but the walk is about 2 miles. Ok if the weather is decent
  5. Grangetown station to the ground is an easy walk, no pubs on sloper road though, nearest one would be the cornwall on cornwall street
  6. I’d steer well clear of the city centre. Our ground is about a mile and a half from the city centre and to be honest, we’re stuck on a retail park with no pubs nearby, apart from a pub/restaurant next to KFC but I think they only serve alcohol with a meal on match day. Best place to have a beer is Canton, Cowbridge Road East to be precise. Plenty of pubs there, but they will be busy as well. All depends on how you’re travelling to be honest, coaches usually renedvous on the M4 and get escorted straight to the ground, which is about 10-15 minute walk from the pubs, best ask locals or police for directions. Easiest for you to have a couple of pints though is probably inside the ground.
  7. Keep checking. Typically, having a rugby match on at the same time affects our walk up sales, so there might be some additional tickets made available to you.
  8. The Family stand is next to the away end (Behind the goal) and I believe that's now sold out, the only other place near the away end is the Ninian stand which, on a normal day can get a bit feisty, but I don't think there'll be any problems. From what I can tell, a lot of City fans will be holding up their scarves as well as you. Cardiff are still saddled with a bad reputation, probably deserved "back in the day", but apart from the few idiots that every club has, we've moved on. You'll have no problems on Saturday.
  9. I don't see any problem with that at all. Last time we were in the Prem there was a Liverpool fan up there giving it the big one and was politely asked by the stewards to retreat back inside, but given the circumstances I wouldn't be surprised to see Leicester scarves all around the ground.
  10. I'm a moderator on a Cardiff message board https://onlyonecardiff.city/ I'll put something up now to hopefully get the word out about your plans. Please take it from me, that Cardiff fans, as well as the club, want to do everything possible to facilitate your ability to show your respect.
  11. Really sorry for your loss. Reading some of the messages, and listening to your fans comments on national TV, clearly this was a remarkable man. Quite apart from bringing your football club success and supporting local charities the bond that he was able to create with you the fans is unique. The impression I get is of an unbelievably wealthy and successful businessman yet with the humility and personal touch of a “normal” fan if you know what I mean. A terrible loss, for his family, his football club and humanity. Respect and condolences from Cardiff.
  12. Cardiff fan here, just want to express my thoughts and sympathies to everyone at Leicester. I’m sure the thoughts of all football fans are with you, I’m praying for everyone involved.
