  1. Not a fan on XG and Stats, but I looked them up after the game and they summed up my thoughts on the game. Southampton were by far the dominant side, dominated possession and a 3.3XG. Maybe people just don't follow Football and simply listen to the Media narratives, but the truth is Wrexham are never challenging for the Top 6, and Southampton had most of their best players on the bench.
  2. Head to head I agree, but they've got the firepower to nick more games than we have.
  3. Why are people celebrating a confidence building opening day comeback win, from the side with possibly the most attacking strength in the League? We know this Wrexham team is garbage, Ward/Coady are their best players, there's no hope of them challenging for promotion.
  4. Very odd, anyone can see Wrexham have no quality and Southampton look decent and have a lot of depth.
  5. They've shown more quality that the two last night. Wrexham's momentum is all that is carrying them through this game, a very very ordinary looking side.
  6. Maybe I'm wrongly assuming every side has a Fatawu/Mavididi/Monga, but you can get at Stacey and Darling, neither are particularly mobile. No idea whether the other defenders are. Can't believe they could get top 2 purely because of that.
  7. Signed in the summer from FC Twente One
  8. I think they've been better going forward than both sides last night, they just keep hitting is straight at Ward. They're very open on the break though.
  9. Over a 46 game season, there's a lot of options on that Southampton bench for this level. Ipswich vs Southampton next weekend though, could already be pressure on both sides and a great chance for us to claw back a good chunk of any potential points deduction.
  10. Brady's certainly brought that Yank entitlement to the Club.
  11. Awful game. Ipswich don't deserve a point, but Birmingham haven't exactly done enough to run out winners either.
  12. Ashley Young might be 40, but he's been the most composed player on the pitch since he's been on.
  13. I've typed "This isn't the Ipswich of 2 years ago" multiple times tonight. But nothing emphasises that point more than Johnson having a strop on when coming off. No bet he thinks he's too good for this level....Yet he's been horrific all night. There's more individual quality at Ipswich than 2 years ago, but there's a lot more egos too.
  14. There's also only 2 starters tonight that were regulars in the Championship. They're not the same spirited side as they were 2 years ago.
  15. They're supposed to be title contenders though. Ipswich clearly look devoid of confidence/Team spirit and Birmingham haven't showed any real quality at all. Ipswich have still created 2 or 3 glorious chances, whilst looking dreadful
  16. Wout Faes would be the best footballer on this pitch. The ultimate perspective about this League.
  17. Besides the signing of Kyogo, the greatest difference between this Birmingham side and the one which went down is momentum of promotion and what that winning feeling brings. We dominated this league the last time we were in it, because we were just far more athletic than other sides and could run all over them....Our squad is even more athletic now than it was then. Admittedly, Birmingham won't be playing us every week, but their lack of athleticism comparatively, is a huge concern for me. "Match Winners" are huge too, and besides Kyogo/Stansfield, who are they?
  18. Well as I mentioned before, Ipswich were more of an unknown. This Birmingham side is not. You can't add athleticism to players. They don't have the young stars like Hirst/Davis/Hutchinson and they don't have the experienced head of a Morsy. They're an ordinary Championship side, with one of the best strikers in the league in Kyogo.
  19. Could you imagine the level of delusion you must have, to believe Cristiano Ronaldo could buy an NBA franchise outside of the top 40 and use his "Expertise", to turn them into a giant of American Basketball? That's what Tom Brady thinks he's doing here.
  20. There's expectation on them now though. They're expected to turn up tonight and win, no matter how delusional the Media are about the fact some Yank who has no ties to this sport is in town.
  21. I stated this opinion before kick off, it has nothing to do with what I've seen so far. Everything to do with their players simply not being good enough. If Birmingham are top 6, then we're guaranteed top 3.
  22. With two of those being their best players. The squad is garbage.
  23. Nearly 20 minutes in, and you quickly realise why even Patson Daka averages 1 goal involvement per game at this level. I'm less impressed with Birmingham than Ipswich. This is a hostile way to start the Season for a relegated side, and Birmigham have shown nothing. There's a real lack of legs in this Birmingham side.
  24. Can Ipswich do what they did 2 years ago, from a standing start, without the momentum of promotion? Are these players going to have the same spirit? Us and Southampton proved 2 years ago we're capable of doing it from adversity, are Ipswich?
  25. Birmingham have just 1 saleable asset in their squad with Stansfield. I was expecting some young and hungry side, like Ipswich were when they came up. This Birmingham squad is old, and it's not going to match the expectation, nowhere near enough legs in the side to cause enough problems over a 46 game season. They're going to be open to the counter with their style all season, and they don't have the defence for it.
