Some rare positivity on Foxestalk !!

I'm more convinced every day this club is some sort of psyop to manipulate and mess with fanbase emotions
- Outgoing information is initially restricted to Happy Birthday messages
- Plan a 5000/1 celebration whilst completely ignoring the fact the club is back in League 1 for only the 2nd time in its history
- Leak info about the planned sale of Jeremy Monga knowing any proceeds will be used to plug an accounting whole or pay Harry Winks' wages
- Now we are drip fed Russell Martin rumours.... knowing the last time this happened there were protests on the terraces and death 'threats'
What comes next I wonder?

2023/24 championship stats arguably more relevant. I'm sure they'll say Russell Martin's Southampton were ranked No1 for dominant possession, shots on target / xG but ranked poorly for tackles, interceptions and frequently conceding goals from errors as we've all seen with his brand of high risk bait football. Great when it works, horrific when it doesn't.

Palace close to making an appointment, utter madness. what's the rush.

They absolutely should have but I doubt the club has given the manager appointment too much focus as yet. Karel Geraerts still available, can't remember who mentioned him before?
Now the 5000/1 game is finally out of the way they're busy trying to clear the decks and balance the books for L1. Getting perceived fair value for Monga seems to be about the extent of any activity.

blimey that lineup almost makes soccer aid appealing

Might be out of the loop here but he's the assistant coach of a Belgian 2nd division team that finished 5th? Why would signing him be a show of intent?
to be fair he didn't say positive intent... just do something...anything...

Mark Robins may soon part company with Stoke according to some sources. Should be high on any shortlist I would have thought?
And as for the Southampton manager, reputation tarnished maybe. But his success with that team can't all be attributed to an analyst with an iphone. Who says no?

Let's face it, he could play 45 mins per game and would still score 15-20 goals whilst rustling opposition fans up and down the country. It would be glorious.
Those thinking we'll sign someone better has more faith in our recruitment than me!!

They can't afford to get this one wrong. Safe pair of hands required. Parker would be perfect imho but he will inevitably get better offers.
I dread to think what Rudkin will come up with.... we just have to pray that McCarron has some sort of positive influence.

He's left Burnley today. Would be a great appointment for where we are currently.

We must be getting to the point where these games genuinely become "must win"
Hopefully we shall start to see this defensive resilience and organisation that we were told Rowett would bring
Also hoping some of these overpaid dossers might shift the intensity from pre season run-out to something resembling effort and commitment
Maybe the set piece coach will earn his wage
It's the hope that kills you

Sky commentator persistently mispronounced his name yesterday and towards the end of the half claimed he was our biggest threat and had been terrorising the SW defence....
He genuinely hasn't played well since Enzo left

Should win next two games but you just can't trust these players

1 win from 7 is problematic but I like GR and his tracksuit style of management. Speaks well, seems to care and for the most part has us playing much more competitively, particularly away from home. Unfortunately we have a squad with error prone players that continue to cost us points. If Daka converts those chances at Watford Foxestalk would be a far more positive place...
Pivotal weekend ahead. No one will begrudge him a mini break if we win the next two.

How my brain is coping with the chances yesterday.
Penalty - The Keeper did well to save it, he guessed the right way and anything other than putting it top bins he would have got to it because he guessed right. Had he dived the other way Daka wins the game for us.
Header - He was offside, so on target or not it wouldn’t count.
Good save but I thought Daka telegraphed where he was going to place the ball with his body shape in the run up and took any guess work out of it for the keeper. I swear you could have asked everyone in that away end who should take the pen and none of them would have picked PD.

Thought Nelson had been pretty good until Saturday.
Maybe Rowett will now feel like he can play Lascelles, but he ought to play him alongside Nelson not instead of him.
Still feel sick that I made a 300 mile round trip to watch that on Saturday. If he picks Ayew this Saturday I'm staying in the pub.

Can't speak for the other two but if relegation is the only viable route to King Power leaving then unequivocally yes.
I can't speak for others but as someone who still goes home and away, I could never get to a position of willing my team to lose every week. Wanting change is one thing but unequivocally hoping for a sustained losing run, relegation and ultimate administration/ bankruptcy is absolutely wild. We've seen Simmo and Huth rallying against this position this week too.

It's slow progress but Top is doing what he said he would do. CV looks decent. This is a positive appointment and hopefully another step in the right direction. Do the BSLB still want us relegated?

Martin appointed (reportedly)

I might be in the minority but this is actually a decent appointment for where we are right now. He has a point to prove and they've appointed him at the start of the transfer window so he can have input into recruitment. Big challenge inevitably is the squad rebuild.
