They aren't giving up on Russell Martin having coveted him forever and backed him in the transfer market. Rudkin and Maccarron seemed to be patting themselves on the back at the weekend for all their hard work over the summer. We should all be hoping he turns this around and starts winning some games but at this point it does feel the majority would prefer to see us lose Saturday and he's gone Sunday.

It's hard to argue with anything he said to be honest. We did win the league with 96 points and have been s*** since Enzo left. I don't mind RM spitting hard facts in that regard in the face of someone admitting to him that our fanbase also booed Enzo. There are clear similarities in the style of play but RM is doing so with a new squad filled with youth, albeit in a division lower. I think RM is right, we will enjoy his football when the winning starts. But for the love of god this winning has to start Saturday

We could win the next 3 league games 3-1 but people will still focus criticism on the manager for the goal we concede from a misplaced pass. We saw it this week after a meaningless fixture. Heavy criticism for the goal we conceded because some people have made it abundantly clear they hate the style of play. Yet that style of play is not given any credit when we score 6 times because it's largely dismissed as poor goalkeeping and 'it's only their u21s'.

If we do get promoted I guarantee you those unwilling to give him a chance from the outset will give him zero credit for the accomplishment Someone pointed out earlier that it is a forum for opinion and yet those with a mildly positive opinion get lambasted, see post ridiculing someone's username ffs

If Russell Martin proves all the 'Told You So' merchants wrong this season and we do get promoted, will they even be happy? At this point I'm genuinely not sure

Is it being unfair to underestimate the task at hand... Rebuilding an overhauled squad, integrating new players and young academy products with limited senior experience. Resetting standards, improving the culture and trying to lift the club after back to back relegation. Implementing his playing style (whether you like it or not) with the pressure of an expectant fan base and a non negotiable target of promotion. All of this knowing the majority of fans didn't want him and some are very firmly in the 'told you so' camp unwilling to overlook some of the factors that might excuse an imperfect start. Yes, it's horrible when the team make errors and goals are conceded because of the playing style but that team goal Saturday was absolutely terrific. It didn't happen by accident, and it shouldn't have been a one off either because 2.4xG tends to suggest otherwise. This fanbase has PTSD because of the trauma the club has put us through over the past two seasons and positive results are required to provide healing. The frequent personnel changes tell us RM still isn't settled on his best team and he needs to find the right solution, quickly. The league table will look very different when he does.

Turned off by Lal in the first few mins of that interview when he persisted with Leicester Football Club Seems like a complete chancer wanting some time in the spotlight. I can't imagine King Power entertaining their inevitable low ball offer. If this is the best of the interested parties I fear we are in big(ger) trouble.

They've got the manager they wanted and have backed him. He'll be given plenty of time. I hope he turns it around quickly and we all look back at the oxford game as a bump in the road on the way to our inevitable promotion.
