Why would Stockport agree to release him on a free when they were almost certainly going to get some compensation for him?

Not that much now the incompetence of the players and upper echelons getting us relegated to Division 1, here’s hoping we get a very Rich Billionaire come in and take us from the grip of the Tyrants that are ruining our club I honestly think we will go into administration this coming season & the EFL will love that to happen to us !
What is this based on? Administration of one of its member clubs is a disaster for the EFL and hold up a torch to its inability to regulate properly.

You think that All Star XI is bad? You haven’t realised it is Steven Davis the snooker player yet.

So you’ve wasted money, become skint and then all of sudden Patson Daka is the only recognised first team striker in the squad… 🤨
Is it that no ****er wants them, or is it the selling club have unrealistic expectations on the terms of the sale?
How many players have left Leicester at the end of their deal for nothing over recent years? How many of those players could have left for a value before then?

It’s interesting because, imo, the “model” isn’t necessarily the problem but the players targeted was.
Nobody would have given Winks £90k a week. He was always a bang average player. Daka and Soumare signings made sense at the time but when it was clear they weren’t up to it, they should have been flogged to the Bundesliga or Ligue 1 for £20m. After wasting money on Winks, what would you not do… Buy his exact replica from the same club for double the transfer fee.
You’ll never get every transfer right in this game but you need to know when to cut your losses rather than your nose to spite your face.

This current season they are in a Division up, Premier league cheapest season ticket is £732, which is 81.2% more expensive then our £404
It’s not. £380 for a season ticket at Newcastle*
*Although that is the last two rows at the top of the stadium
Our family area tickets are also £507 for an adult.

Genuinely do not know where you go from here. I thought our support was tepid at times and impossible to galvanise into a force capable of making it hostile enough for Ashley, but those Facebook posts are depressing.
People are just dangerous not comprehending that the best way to “support the club” would be to force change rather than sitting back and watching relegation after relegation, points deduction after points deduction.

I think we'll be operating in a slightly different market. We'll be the biggest club in League One and will aiming for an instant promotion back to the Championship. There are quite a few managers who would be interested in that gig but wouldn't particularly fancy Barnsley.
Whilst I don’t disagree, some people in this thread suggesting people like Martin, Rosenior or Gerrard will have a rude awakening about the different market you’ll be operating in.
Personally think you need an upcoming young coach with a good philosophy and evidence of working with a young squad and building morale and harmony. There is very little of that in this country, maybe someone like Challinor (but not convinced you’d pay for him or he’d come) so I’d suggest plucking someone out the second division in Germany or a seasoned number 2 with a good reputation.
I don’t know enough of that level to have an informed opinion but good evidence of it working out in Eckert and others.
Last thing you need in this mess is a recycled manager from the lower leagues.

Rowett definitely threw Winks on as you’re winning and he can’t be ****ed with staying on next season.

Less goals
Less shots
Less shots on target
Less passes attempted
Less passes in final third attempted
Less crosses
Less tackles
Less successful tackles
Less fouls
BUT Leicester are ahead on throw ins.
You can just feel the urgency.

I apologise I didn't get in the sugar server and silver spoons but trust me, they were there. 3 china mugs, a sugar container, silver spoons and a flask of tea.
Can't tell you how much I despise what this club has championed and encouraged as a group of happy clapper fans and they deserve everything they have reaped.
Absolutely embarrassing that. Should be ashamed.
Imagine not having a saucer.

What a limp way to go up. Playing it round the back for 10 minutes to get a draw against a side in the bottom 6 who weren't even attempting to press.
I mean when you only need a draw, what do you expect?
If they needed a win and were winning 1-0 would you criticise them for not trying to win 2-0?

I mean grasping at straws, Blackburn won’t need anything on the last day and we still “might”. Them being safe does play in our favour a tiny bit.
But yeah
It’s grasping at straws
I mean it’s a good line of thought.
Watford, QPR, Sheff Weds, Preston and Swansea are all currently fighting for what exactly?

They don't look very good either even 2 draws would take it to the last day if we manage to get 2 wins out of 3 again massively unlikely
Winning 2 out of 3 seems slightly unrealistic when currently on a run of 2 wins from 18 games.
With the score currently a draw, would need 2 wins and 2 draws or 3 wins from the last 4 games to get above Blackburn… also assuming they get nothing against Sheff Utd and one of those wins comes against them.
Getting on the verge of 5,000/1 stuff again.

League One - Who manages us?

What a remarkably bad appointment.
I mean it says a lot that his stock is so low he is having to go for it. He’s been a few agent for ages, if he was truly up for it and keen, why wasn’t he through the door months ago?
To be fair, any professional manager should be capable of getting you promoted next season*, but he’ll need binning almost immediately as he’s not the answer to progress through the Championship.
There must be a capable up and coming young manager in League One, Two or the continent who is worth investing in to grow together with.
*subject to sensible transfers.
