We can confirm that LCFC Women trio Hannah Cain, Chantelle Swaby and Rosella Ayane will leave the Football Club upon the expiration of their contracts in June.
Hannah Cain set to leave LCFC Women after six seasons
Chantelle Swaby leaves the Football Club after two campaigns
Rosella Ayane departs following one season at King Power Stadium
Extension options activated with Olivia Clark and Celeste Boureille
Forward Cain departs LCFC Women after six years at King Power Stadium, and having made 89 appearances in City colours since joining from Everton in the summer of 2020.
A key figure in our recent history, Hannah played an important role in securing the Championship title and promotion to the Barclays Women’s Super League in 2021, before helping us compete across five consecutive seasons in the women’s top flight.
Swaby leaves the Football Club having made 31 appearances in two years on Filbert Way following a move from French Première Ligue side FC Fleury 91 in June 2024.
Ayane, meanwhile, will also leave us upon the expiration of her contract. The striker made 14 appearances in 25/26 having joined us as a free-agent last summer.
We are pleased to confirm that extension options have been activated on the contracts of goalkeeper Olivia Clark and defender Celeste Boureille to extend their LCFC Women stay for at least another year.
The Club remains in negotiations with talented youngster Denny Draper with a contract offer issued to the 19- year-old.
We would like to place on record our sincere appreciation to Hannah, Chantelle and Rosella as they leave the Football Club this summer and wish them the very best for the next chapter of their careers.Shame to see Hannah go, I dont think she's been very effective at all in the WSL, but she clearly has it in her locker a bit as she shines for Wales quite often. It was optimistic to think we could keep her, but she could have been great in the WSL2.
Not bothered about Ayanne and Swaby though...

Swaby was hardly ever fit, so its no real loss
Never looked like she enjoyed being with or connected with the club too.
If you're not arsed, cya!

Swaby announces she’s leaving.
Would have looked at Neve Herron at Birmingham to replace her but she’s now a league above!!
Can't say I'm too upset about that. At times looked solid, but mostly just slow and lumbering.

Oh dear an embarrassing 8-2 defeat .
Was going to watch it as well, glad I didn't bother make the effort.

From what I can tell on the highlights for both the LCL games and even Chelsea, we were competitive. Though Chelsea have just got so much class, it's almost impossible to outdo them.
Is Passmoor managing during this tournament? Genuine question...

We’ve posted a three-part review of the season over the past three days - the final part is here:
It’s interesting covering both the men’s and women’s teams. The numbers are pretty small in terms of interest in the women’s side but even running the site, it’s been tough to find the enthusiasm to watch the games or read the contributors’ match reports sometimes when it’s another chunk of the weekend dedicated to watching a Leicester defeat.
We’re going to try to keep it going next season though, as outside of this thread there’s very little critical thinking about LCFC Women out there, even when it seems like a parallel of the kind of lazy approach to scouting and strategy that’s affected the men’s side.
It's a shame that hopefully there will be more positives to write about next season (for the women's at least), but there's probably not going to be the eyes to see it as only the slightly more hardcore fans that are going to stick around.

Denny Draper in the England U20s squad
Really great news considering the past 2 seasons she's had!

Purely down to King Power wanting their name in lights I’d say. No other reason to enter it.
Leitzig won’t be here next season, I’m told Lehmann will be.
Unfortunately none of them are too good for the WSL2 right now, when they find a manager that can re-install confidence then maybe so, but most of these are on the way down, the future is Las. Sherwood, Keane, Mouchon, but most of what’s left will only move sideways if they leave.
If that is true, then you would like to think a new manager would bounce us back up. We've not got a good enough squad to be mid-table in the WSL, but we definitely have to finish at the top of WSL2.
Surely Rick has to be gone... I could not be more certain... But I am continuously proven wrong.

Does anyone else find this 7's tournament really weird?
I mean I don't think it's a bad idea necessarily, but the timing of it is...
We've just finished the season and we're playing players that will highly unlikely be with us next season...
Mayling, Lehmann, Leitzig, Thibaud, Ale (probably too good for the WSL2), Cain, Ayanne, Rantala. Maybe also add Mouchon to that list.
Hope we do well, just finding it very odd.

Isn't this a decent result for the club? Means they don't have to finance it.
For the finance team, yes. For the fans, no.

It's so disappointing, really thought we'd come away with this okay. But just another poor game.
Unfortunately though we, really deserve relegation and Charlton really deserved the promotion.
We've been abysmal almost all season, but since Christmas especially so. We've shown nothing and offered nothing.
Honestly, similarly to the mens team, this has to be used as a reset to drain the swamp and re-build and bounce back. It's gutting, but it might be nice to see something other than batterings every week from next season...

How much of a following do we reckon we'll have tomorrow?
Few hundred I'd say.
Probably similar as to what we got at the Tottenham FA cup semi.

Going to be an interesting team selection tomorrow.
Given we should be able to compete a bit better in this one surely it has to be more attacking line up for a change.
Think I'll despair if its five at the back with three defensively minded midfielders again.
Agreed, we should be the ones on the front foot for a change.
Man for man, we have more quality on the pitch, Charlton are out of form and will be gutted to have finished 3rd in a 1 horse race.
But... we've not scored 2 goals in 1 game all season and often look like rabbits caught in headlights when under pressure.
I can see us easily winning, but also capitulating like we did again Palace in the league cup...
Hopefully there being a decent away support will give them a bit of a boost.

Should mean the other teams are all missing their best players...be a laugh when we score more in this than the whole season
It's optimistic to think we will even have 7 players to our name by then!
Everyone may be out of contract...

she's young and inexperienced as we've seen with Las this season she may as well not exist to Passmoor
Unfortunately with Las, she's not really fared any better on loan, pretty much just limited to substitution appearances for a really poor Ipswich side. If she can't get in the starting 11 there, I'm worried...

Get Draper on for 15mins we might need her next week
Might need her next season, let along next week.
Haven't been able to watch the 2nd half, but disappointing to concede last minute. Hopefully our performance didn't jump off a cliff in the 2nd half?
-
Not a bad first half, we have a bit more going forward and looking positive.
We are a bit obvious in what we are trying to do on each attack, it's always route one to the wings, need to change it up.
We do just lack a bit of control and muscle in the middle of the field.

Surely playoff tickets are released or we're at least given a release date today?
-
Extremely frustrating that there is another 2 week long wait without a league game and it's not even a international break.
I know the game against Everton won't mean anything aside from maybe giving us a bit of momentum, but the way the league is run is like it's Sunday League.

We can't be surprised and/or could not forsee Lehmann being fans player of the season regardless as to how she played, surely?
She's got a million x more followers on her socials than the football club has fans, I am sure.
Not saying it's right, but it was always happening.

You would have thought the club would be pushing sales of tickets for the relegation play off game.
I expect that they come out before the end of the week.
Hoping for free coach travel too...

I thought Van Egmond let James get her shot away far too easily for the 2nd goal.
Katie Keane did well, the defence in front of her let her down first half, quite how Neville escaped with a yellow is beyond me, borderline assault.
I agree with you on Katie Keane, she gave a really good account of herself today. She made some great stops, but she did have a couple of butter finger moments that she has to be really careful of.
I think you're dammed if you do, dammed if you don't with Lauren James. You get close and she skips around you... you stay away, she whips in a worldie.
Having watched the highlights, the freekick was a freekick, but again, there's nothing anyone could do about the strike.
