Been in the states for about a week and this trip is going to do lasting damage to my fitness 😂 managed to do a few shorter runs so far though.

Boston is a great city to run in, trails/paths along the river with literally hundreds running on all the time. Did 5k in Houston yesterday after a stormy day and the humidity was insane. No shock that there were literally no other runners out.

    Enjoy mate!

Haven't been to those places but didn't enjoy running in the centre of cities over there where I have been. The crossings and stop start nature of it really frustrated me!

On my way home from Scotland/Northumberland and my shins/legs ache from the hills and wearing old shoes 😂 Stunning scenery though

I disagree, surely that can only propel one on to the very heights of athletic excellence.

Seriously, very well done though. Amazing stuff

Thanks. Usually like a good old chicken and rice the night before and no shite food for days before. This hol all I've eaten is junk meals tbf, not including all the cake and chocolate 😂 so I'll take it. Got a ten km at the end of the month back home I might do, just waiting on the weather, but again will aim for closer to pb hopefully there as it's flat

Awaiting the official time, but think I was about 40:30. Pretty sure I finished around 11-14th place, possibly from about 600 runners.

Was a nice route but so unbelievably windy and elevated in places. Splits all over the place. Ranging from 3:51 to 4:25, the hills were an absolute killer especially in the wind, I really hated it at times 😂 Elevation gain of 80m Strava says.

I knew sub 40 would be tough here because of all that, but wasn't a bad effort with short notice before entering it and definitely didn't do it in my best shoes either 😂

Second fastest 10k and 5k I've ever done on Strava so I'll take it and on to the next one end of June where it's back home and flat. Beating my 38:28 PB is my target there.

Results finally been posted. 13th Place and 434 runners. 40:19 time. Would have loved the sub 40 but the hills and wind did me in. Didn't help the Chinese takeaway and fish/pie and chips I've had three nights in a row 😂

On holiday in Northumberland and discovered Bamburgh 10k is tomorrow. Needless to say I've signed up. Looks a bit elevated tbh and I've not trained as much this week so I'll be going for another consecutive sub 40 but actually think I might struggle. Scenery will be good though

Sounds like hell. Hope you’ve not done any damage.

Strange one. Was throbbing last night like a bastard, struggled to sleep and actually was struggling to put weight on it, especially to go up the stairs.

I work on my feet all day so was pretty worried this morning. Felt tight but generally ok to walk on, ibuprofen has possibly helped.

Might see how it is tomorrow as I did have a run planned but last thing I want is to aggravate it as it's definitely tender. I'm not the best at managing injuries and resting.

Just happy I didn't go arse over tit or worse 🤣

  6. Tried to do a new interval workout for myself. Basically 1km burts (6 reps), with 90 seconds in between.

Absolute pain. How any one can hold anything close to 3 min pace for a significant time is staggering to me. Quickest I did was 3:30 something, and id love that to be over 5km eventually.

Decided the last 2/3 reps id do over 800m because frankly I was ****ed.

Rolled my ****ing ankle on the second burst....hurt at first but cracked on and finished the workout. Hoping thats not made it worse now in hindsight and the adrenaline may has masked it. As I sit here it definitely hurts a bit.

  7. Anyone else find Strava routes/maps bullshit?

Sunday thought I'd give a route it suggested on a 20 mile run.

Started off ok then the roads led me into farm tracks, had to hop over farm gates then suddenly lost in fields. Couldn't get out, every time I left one field I'd get another one in the way with a ditch separating each one. Skipped down one and stung my legs to bits with nettles.

When i did eventually get out had a farmer matey tell me one of the fields was covered in something. **** knows what but just said cheers and ran off down the road before i was shot for trespass or something. Nightmare it was 🤣

  8. Can out of nowhere feel like shit in this running game. Think the heat and maybe body telling me to have a rest day has played it's part.

Just done a 10km on a usual circuit and about 5km in felt sluggish as hell, hungry and thirsty. My own fault for not fuelling enough or hydrating well enough before a run.

Had to stop at corner shop and break for five mins. After that felt a lot better and back at original pace. Completely my own fault, running is an unforgiving sport at times though.

Rest day tomorrow, long run Sunday if it's not too hot.

  9. First set of intervals running in about a month due to holidays and the ridiculous weather. Thought today would be cooler and good to pick up the Fartleks again. Can confirm it's far too hot for them. At the end of the intervals and about 4km from home had to go buy a drink or felt I might keel over.

Can't wait for it to drop soon purely to make running more enjoyable again 😂

My groin is completely done after my ultra. Played football at KP yesterday and I’m in real pain with any kind of outward movement.

Luckily I can limit that a little bit on shorter runs but it’s going to stop my progress for a while, luckily that coincides with a holiday in a few weeks though.

Sorry to hear about the groin mate, hope it's gets better soon.

But how was it playing yesterday? Hope the heat didn't impact the enjoyment too much

  11. Fair dos to Hull.

Epitomy of what the Championship can be for you if you get hungry and organised players. Honestly think before the season started I could only have McBurnie who I knew about.

They were hard to beat all season and with some bigger teams and bigger spending teams having a nightmare they've capitalised and they deserve it.

Same could be said for Millwall coming third really. Just sums the championship up

  12. Just done a light 7km, usually do more but think would be suicidal at this time of day and temperature. Might go again tonight late if I have time.

Running at my normal/average pace for a light one at about 4:50-5:00per km and I'm absolutely dripping in sweat and my heart rate kept spiking like **** 🤣

Absolutely hate it when it's like this here, really affects running for me

I was Novablast 5 til I die and still like them, they're a bloody comfy number but the Evo SLs properly won me over after wearing them in over 50km or so. Laces are shite on them but they just seem to work better for me, starting to tire a little after ~700km but no complaints at the price point

Also the bloody Novablast 5's just seem ****ing massive, I'm an 11 and I'll put them side by side with the SLs, they're a good half an inch longer than the Adidas.

I have both and I think the 5s edge it for me. The laces and tongue of the Evos are a bit cheaper feel than it should be.

Also the sole of my Evos is peeling off sort of, the material near the heel I mean. The 5s I've done probably double the distance in and look much better condition wise

I need to invest in some new shoes soon but no idea what 🤣

    Spawny cvnts.

Cov win the championship,  forest probably end up winning Europe league and we are going out of existence.

    Haha. Oh dear.

Derby nicking sixth place and going up in the playoffs almost feels inevitable at this point

  15. Personally annoyed that Orient or Exeter will go down.

Orient only went the once last time in L1 and it was class.

Exeter I've always wanted to tick off and would use it as an excuse for a seaside trip.

Other than that I'm looking forward to some new grounds I can hopefully do.

Can also walk to Posh from my house in 10-15 mins so that's a bonus too 😂
