I saw him play for Molde in Norway in July 2021, when he would have been only 18. He looked strong and quick but raw, which is what you'd expect from someone so young.

Swiss born Austrian right back Moritz Bauer from Stoke. He's only 26, rapid and skilful, and we badly need a right back to give competition to or replace Simpson. He only signed for Stoke for £5.5m in January but might not mind a quick exit for the chance to stay in the Premiership with us.

I watched him play for Molde in Norway a few times, mostly under manager Ole-Gunnar Solskjær. He was only 20/21 at the time but looked a talent. He has good skill, a good engine and is quite strong and tenacious - willing to fight for the ball and difficult to dispossess. Of course the Norwegian league is relatively low standard, probably equivalent to our League 1, so it's difficult to know if he could make the step up. However, given his youth and recent exploits at Basel he may well be worth a punt.
