I listened to Radio Leicester's phone in and am surprised that Ian Stringer did not talk about the virtues of Safe Standing promoted by FSF but having said that you have to respect the honestly expressed opinions of those who phoned in and said that they felt it was dangerous/uncomfortable. The fact remains that Peterborough's terracing provides a physical layout which gives the opportunity for bad stewarding/too high capacity. This human element will always be variable and seating/Safe Standing stops that opportunity from arising and poor stewarding is then irrelevant. Perhaps, children should be barred from Peterborough's terracing. I still don't follow why those who felt the terracing was dangerous/uncomfortable didn't make the decision to attempt to leave the ground and go home.

Will FSF be able to use today's experience as an argument in favour of safe standing? I hope so.

Many people do argue for old fashioned terracing though and don't concede that terracing is in any way unsafe.

I know. My point was that old fashioned terracing can be unsafe if fans choose to overcrowd an area.

Surely, if fans choose to stand in the same areas and not disperse evenly then standing can become unsafe? I thought the idea of safe standing was allocated standing spaces.

Are you sure there was over selling or fans wanting to stand in the same areas?

If there was seating today surely fans would have dispersed to their allocated seats hence no overcrowding.

I'm in favour of the Safe Standing campaign and have signed the FSF petition. It is evident that the police and local authority were at fault for crowd management on the day but the firm suggestion remains in most people's minds that if Hillsborough had been an all seater stadium with ticket holders sitting in their allocated seats then the disaster probably wouldn't have happened.

I think that the key to our predicament is this notion of expectation. It's not about "expecting not to lose" it is about the team having the positive will to fight to win. This spirit is lacking.
