MON Posted 30 August 2004 Posted 30 August 2004 i have looked through the lcfc world archives and found this. http://download.premiumtv.co.uk/lcfc/promotion190403_dl.wmd The team celebrating, that had been together for years. They understood each other. muzzy bossing the midfield. dickov doing the business up front. elliot and taggart at the back. rock solid. I look at citys team today, there is no passion. No commitment. No-one chasing for the ball like dickov does. No-one delivering superb balls and crosses like izzet did. No Elliot and Taggart solid partnership at the back. There is no-one controlling the midfield and defending the back four, that mckinlay did so well. The last time we went up the team had been together since mostly the MON years. So they understood each other. Now all we have are old players, looking for one big fat last pay day. I can not see us getting promoted. something has to give. A new manager would bring a fresh approach to the side. Like building for the future. Not changing the squad every year. A candidate that has not been mentioned is Phil Thompson. the former liverpool assistant manager. He did a great job, (probably better then then Houllier himself) when he was care-taker manager. He is out of work. Maybe he would come to us, to give him a start in management.
dhermon Posted 30 August 2004 Posted 30 August 2004 umm i said it just before but more in jest as i dont think he would come but you never know. i would love it if he came to us but lets work with what we HAVE got now and just get it right for a change
