Thracian Posted 30 September 2005 Posted 30 September 2005 Alan Sheehan has cleaned up in the fans vote for Leicester's best full-back - but will someone polish the tarnish that is clouding Craig's eyes to what almost everyone can see but him?. From 63 votes so far a massive 43 have voted for Sheehan that's 68.75 per cent with five other candidates, Gilbert, Kisnorbo, Wilcox, Nils and Tiatto managing just 31.75 per cent BETWEEN THEM. Sheehan's 43 votes compares with just 6 for his nearest rival Paul Gilbert (9.52 per cent) and 5 votes for third man Jason Wilcox. It could hardly be more emphatic so I'd really appreciate it if Craig Levein could explain why he sees it so differently. Having watched all the candidates I'm surprised the vote wasn't even more emphatic but in political terms it was still a landslide. And the fans aren't daft Craig. They've watched a lot of football over the years. Are you really prepared to call em all idiots? Sheehan adds in every way to our attacking potential (outstanding passer, good at free-kicks, disinclined to waste the ball, good athleticism). Given that he is also a good defender and organiser, why start with people that can only dream of having the skills he possesses? He and Stearman should be two of the cornerstones of our team, just like Hughes and Hume.

Little Nicky Posted 30 September 2005 Posted 30 September 2005 Here here Mr Thracian! We want Sheehan, we want Sheehan, we want Sheehan!
De Vries The King Posted 30 September 2005 Posted 30 September 2005 I don't think thatb we should exploit Sheehan to early as the pressure may get to him. I think that he's a good prospect but would prefer a loan signing to play on the left. Paul Tierney plays/played for Man U i'm not sure if he still does play for them or where he is now but has always been a good prospect in my eyes.

Paul Tierney plays/played for Man U i'm not sure if he still does play for them or where he is now but has always been a good prospect in my eyes. We've got six left-backs already including this young international who looks destined for the top, why get anymore? Besides, Sheehan looks the last sort of lad who would let pressure get to him. It's a bit ironic really. Tiatto is about as disciplined as a rabid rottweiler and Sheehan the ultimate in maturity, calmness and composure yet you suggest it's the youngster can't take the pressure. I know which one I'd want around in a crisis. Tiatto might win round one until the "retaliation" turned up but Sheehan would painlessly take the sting out of a raging wasp or any other threatening situation. Quietly tough is Sheehan. SAS type if he'd wanted it, I'd imagine.
De Vries The King Posted 30 September 2005 Posted 30 September 2005 I don't rate Tiatto at all and I don't have a clue why he's the captain as he's the last player I'd look up to one because he's short and 2 because he must get booked every game he plays. I just think thnat Sheehan should be slowly introduced.
