Greaves and Hurst.

 

Greaves probably the greatest English striker of all time IMO but replaced by Hurst in the 66 World Cup due to injury in the early matches. The rest is history.

Correct. Only remember from being a pundit on ATV/Central and then teaming up with the Saint for Saint and Greavsie

Greaves was actually before my time too. But the archive footage, stats and popular opinion suggests he was the top English striker ever.

I think the players of years gone by were probably better technically than the current so-called superstars.
