[An Away Move]

IVF can be really stressful and it can be a difficult thing to talk about - and therefore lonely. I'm set to meet a baby daughter soon, but it has been a long and tough journey. Just wanted to say hello and lend good wishes and support to anyone who is going through this process. Fingers crossed you get there! 👋

We never got quite as far as IVF but we did need some help for our first. It can be a long and lonely journey for many people to get to the point of having kids. 2 healthy little boys now - although from time-to-time we need to be reminded why we were so desperate to have them in the first place!

 

We are brought up to believe that if you want to have kids you can, but for whatever reason it increasingly seems to be the case that nature does not necessarily take its course. There will be hundreds of thousands of people out there desperately sad that they’re not able to conceive without, and unfortunately sometimes even with, help. It’s not something that we are good at talking about as a society and posts like yours are a good step forward.

We had 2 via IVF and then a third which was a complete accident/miracle. 

 

Before the 2 we had we had to abort one at 20 weeks (also IVF) as she had a disorder which was incomparable with life. 

 

All in all the hardest thing I've ever done is have kids. Certainly messed me up mentally at times and I don't envy anyone going through that journey. But it is worth it in the end (most of the time 🤣)

So sorry you both had to experience what you went though at the 20 week stage. I think that might have broke me.
