Hi all

My name is Paul and I am currently doing a PhD research project on bipolar disorder at De Montfort University. My reasons for positing is an attempt to recruit participants for a paid research opportunity that includes individuals with bipolar disorder, unaffected family members and people from the general population - that meet separate inclusion criteria.

I do not want to overwhelm any of you with too much information but the general outline of the study is to explore a potential relationship between bipolar disorder, facial emotion recognition and bodily sensations - This is something that has never been done before and could offer a new direction for research in the disorder. The experiment takes approximately 60-75 minutes and involves completing five short self-report questionnaires, a cognitive assessment and tasks involving looking at and rating pictures of faces and one that involves bodily signals. Furthermore, this is a paid opportunity.

I have attached a poster for you to read and hopefully that gives you a little more information, if you would like to know more please feel free to contact me on the email address provided.

Thank you for your time and thank you to the moderators for allowing me to post.

Paul

Very best of luck with this study, I hope you make a breakthrough.  I had an ex girlfriend who suffered with Bipolar and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Certainly over the 3.5 years we were together, it affected her massively, but also had a deep and lasting effect on me as well.
