Cobbo Posted 14 October 2004 Posted 14 October 2004 Walker DoubtfulCaretaker manager Dave Bassett says Ian Walker stands little chance of making his comeback from injury against Coventry City at Highfield Road on Saturday. Walker has missed the last seven games with a knee problem - but was back in training at the start of the week after a lengthy lay-off. Bassett had been hopeful that his number one would be back between the sticks when speaking on Tuesday. But he confirmed at his pre-match press briefing on Thursday that Walker was struggling to be involved. He said: "Ian Walker has had to see the specialist again and we won't know about his availability until the weekend. I would say at the moment it is unlikely Ian will make the team on Saturday, although he is hoping to try and do it." There was some positive news though on the fitness of three other members of Bassett's squad. He added: "Dion Dublin has had treatment on his hamstring and he seems to be ok. Trevor Benjamin and Kevin Harper have both trained all this week which is good news. "We have just got one or two players in the treatment room at the moment, but that always happens." From our almighty OS! Bugger At least Harper and Trev sound like they'll be in contention.
