The Reverend Posted 15 February 2006 Posted 15 February 2006 Has that performance silenced the people who questioned Rob's style of football? That was a great performance and we were so unlucky to not take the three points. We played some great football though. In a way it reminded me of the way Levein played it a few months back but with the end product. It was great to see. What a player Hume is though. Although he spurned a 1-on-1, he had a great game and his link up play, running, and overall contribution to the game was excellent. I would go so far as to say that if Weso was playing, we wuold have turned them over (as at times we seemed to lack a midfield (as Joey looked average and Hughes didnt do too much)). He would have added that bite buzzing around the midfield. The sheep wouldnt have got a look in. Another thing that shows me is that Rob has a good tactical understanding which Levein lacked. He realised that perhaps they didnt have the best defence and tries to exploit it through lovely little through balls which on another day, could have resulted in 5 or more goals. Whereas at Brighton. he knew it would be scrappy, and went for the throat in the first 5 minutes and it worked perfectly. It was a great performance last night and if we play like that against Leeds we will batter them. They will not sit back, but will go for goals leaving gaps at the back, which will favour us greatly. Well done lads! ITS JUST LIKE WATCHING BRAZIL, ITS JUST LIKE WATCHING BRAZIL, BRAZIL!

Birch'sLeftBoot Posted 15 February 2006 Posted 15 February 2006 What I like is that (knock on wood, praying) he keeps up his honest, humble assessment of the club and the very matter-of-fact manner he has in dealing with the public and fans. Supporters appreciate honesty and commitment in a manager, a man that tells it like it is, and that is what Kelly has done. Now, results going well have gone in his favor and have been a dramatic mark in the book for the supporters, and I think he is a guy that likes to keep things simple, a point that seems vital with a young club. I hope we have continued success with him, as I think he would be the perfect transition boss for the young guys.
