ashwj Posted 27 April 2006 Share Posted 27 April 2006 Spanish left back Sito Castro has been put on a free by Ipswich. He's 26 and is very composed on the ball as well as tenacious. He can also play both sides of defence so can provide a better option to cover for Stearman than Mayburry. Iv seen him twice this season because I'm at Uni near Ipswich and iv been to a few games. He apparently does not get on with Joe Royle which is why he has been transfer listed. From what I have seen and heard from Ipswich fans he is a very decent player, in fact I thought he was Ipswich's best in one match. I doubt we will find much a much better left back on a free. I also doubt he will be on a huge wage since Ipswich arn't exactly big spenders. Just a thought but we should be looking, especially for a much needed left back. I would rather see us bring in British players especially for areas like defence as they are more competitive and honest, well most of them. Plus this guy seems like he could be a troublemaker after falling out with the gaffer reasonably early into his stay at Ipswich. However, I haven't ever seen him play so I can only take your word for it that he is decent. Also the commanding fee of zero and the word free is very tempting. I'd certainly give him a shot.
