cisono Posted 20 August 2006 Posted 20 August 2006 women don't need to tell jokes, they have a natural ability to make men laugh when they try to do things like change a 3 pin plug or reverse into a parking space Talking of parking... Some time ago, I wanted to park my car in the usual place, in the street, next to a restaurant. Only, there were 5 guys doing some building work just by there, so I approached the task tentatively. I was trying to park while avoiding the cement (and the builders themselves, although on second thought, I shouldn't really have bothered with the latter). They just couldn't help themselves: they all had to stop working and start giving me directions "a bit this way", "a bit that way" (often contradicting one another). I don't normally have any trouble parking, but I felt as if it this particular parking was made difficult by their attitude. Plus, I didn't particularly appreciate the clapping and cheering at the end!

Interesting that some people from some countries like to applaud the pilots when they successfully land a plane on the runway without any drama... the pilots must be a bit upset by it. As a pilot, you train for years, spend hundreds of hours getting qualified to fly a certain type, and the passangers seem to have so little confidence in your skills that they feel the need to applaud when you complete your job properly.

Italians seem to do that at times (I hide in shame when they do). Also Mexicans... Doesn't make much sense to me. I think it's meant in a nice way (such as "Wow, we couldn't do that ourselves!")

A bit like when you give a standing ovation to a crap City player when he gets subbed off (Think Sylla)

Tommeh Posted 21 August 2006 Posted 21 August 2006 People might recognise this one from T.V comedy I won't include the people names though so it sounds like I made it up!! Steve: Sorry to have to say this Phil but we think you've murdered Sue and buiried her in the garden. Phil: How dare you, murdered my wife and buiried her in the garden, I've never been so insulted in my life, you know how much I spent on that garden you think i'm gonna dig a hole in it!!
