Maybes Posted 10 July 2006 Posted 10 July 2006 According to ITV news, Materazzi said to zidane "I slept with your mother last night", "She is an algerian whore". Zidane took offence for obvious reason but also becuase his mother his ill.

And in all honesty if someone said that about my mum (the first one, not the one I've just put) I'd probably laugh. But not if she were ill.

I can't believe it would've been the first time an opponent had dissed his family on the pitch. He should have let his football do the talking and then sorted out Materazzi in the tunnel afterwards.

Alexikokopops Posted 8 August 2006 Posted 8 August 2006 An update on What Zidane said. My friend Nat's lived in Italy for the past year and has an Italian boyfriend. Just chatted to her and she bought it up and said "Materazzi's cousin gets his haircut at my boyfriends salon, I know what was said" (Seriously, you can't make this up). Apparently he's got his end away with Zidane's wife and sister, and Zidane said to Materazzi, "Hey if you want I'll give you my football top as a souvenir when you lose" to which Materazzi replied "Give it to your whore of a wife". Like I said, Materazzi's cousin told this to a hairdresser at my friend's Italian boyfriend's Salon he owns in Italy, so it MUST be true. But yunno, thought I'd throw another one in there for novelty value.
