dandannieldanok Posted 18 July 2006 Posted 18 July 2006 Is it still on? I thought Greece were banned from inernation football but on SSN a few mins ago they were talking about it as the start of the McLaren era. Can somebody shed some light please.
syston_fox Posted 18 July 2006 Posted 18 July 2006 12 July 2006 Fifa has lifted its suspension stopping Greece and its clubs from playing in international competition. The ban was activated after Fifa ruled there was too much government interference in football affairs. But Fifa reversed the decision after Greece's parliament voted in favour of an amendment to the offending laws. England's friendly with Greece on 16 August, which is scheduled to be new coach Steve McClaren's first game in charge, should now go ahead as planned.
