Requiem for a dream

From the Lord of the Rings, main theme. Seems to fit nicely with twin tower footage.

Would be a great intro before a city match.

Have you seen the trailer someone made mixing Requiem For A Dream with Toy Story 2?

Done well

Anyway, the Requiem For A Dream soundtrack is ace, and so are the Kronos Quartet in general (they did the music).

I love that film.

No i havn't seen the film requiem for a dream.

This tune makes me think of what could be, i sit here with goose pimples listening to the thrust, energy and the symbols clashing, its a real stirring peice of work.

When this tune ends, its sudden, i thought the post horn gallop kicking in after it would work well.

Is Requiem for a dream, just the soundtrack name for the film, or is it the name of this peice of music as clip?

Requiem For A Dream is the film name and the name of the soundtrack.

The soundtrack is performed by the Kronos Quartet and a lot of the tracks on it and in teh film are based on that particular tune in the clip0, if you will.

Watch the film, the music is perfect for that as well.

When ever I play the Requiem For A Dream soundtrack my friend Laura will leave the room because it creeps her out because the film creeps her out.

It's an awesome film, but definately not for the squeamish as you get towards the end, it gets the Kokopops Seal Of Approval.

After watching it though you'll see what Dan means when he says "it would probably induce our downward spiral into the hell of conference if the movie is anything to go by!".

I'm gonna go watch it now I think.

I just wana know what the name of the peice of music is. Are you saying its a remixed collection of all or some of the soundtrack album?

Why does it say "Requiem for a Dream: Soundtrack by Clint Mansell" in the above Kronos link, if Kronos perfomed the tunes, did Clint write them?

The music in that video is a remixed version of "Lux Aeterna" called "Requiem For A Tower" and featured on the Lord Of The Rings trailer for the second film.

It's basically the same as Lux Aeterna but with the added drums.

A lot of the soundtrack is quite similar and uses the same tune but slightly different, so I had to look up which actual song is remixed there.

Summer Overture is another good 'un, which is similar and I prefer so I recommend that as well, probably over Lux Aeterna.

Clint Mansell is the composer, he also composed the music for Pi, Darren Aronofsky's first film which lead to him composing the music for his second film Requiem For A Dream, which the Kronos Quartet performed.

You do. My Lux Aeterna is 3.46, a bit less dramatic, more choir music, but good all the same.

My summer overture is more like requien for a tower than Luxy.

Yeah. I loved the remix, but once you see the film you'll see the Tower version (very epic) wouldn't really suit Requiem cos the film is essentially urban and down to earth.

Like Alex said, not for the squemish. If you smoke you will need a few cigs after it finishes ;)

I dont smoke cigs, jamacian woodbine will chill me out :P

How do you spell "squemish", Alex spelt it with an A, me and you didnt. Every word with a Q, then has a U, Qu, so why the A, Alex?
