I thought it was really good, both teams played some good football and Tevez looked pretty impressive for the half hour or so he was on. I didn't really know much about Petrov when Villa signed him but he looked really good today, moved it around nicely and was massively unlucky with that lob that got cleared off the line by Mears (and what a clearence!). He'll do a good job for Villa this season I reckon I definitely think Tevez will have an impact on the Prem this season too, absolute class!

Wasn't the worst game I've ever seen either. Villa look a decent side under MON and I wouldn't bet against them finishing in the top 6 this time around.

I'd have bet on that being a goal until Mears polled up and pulled off the most stunning goaline save I've seen. How the hell did he manage to clear it when the ball was so high? I could have probably swung my foot that high, but wouldn't have been able to continue playing football immediately after... and probably wouldn't have kicked the ball in the right direction to keep it out. Stunning save, absolute class.
