davieG Posted 13 October 2006 Posted 13 October 2006 I've been given a free copy of Acronis and wonder what the benefits of it are. Is anyone familiar with it? If so can you advise on how I should best use it, if at all? Any other thoughts relating to this that you feel i should be aware of please let me know. Thanks.
cisono Posted 13 October 2006 Posted 13 October 2006 The description of Acronis True Image says "Complete file and system disk imaging backup and restore software for home and home office users that can protect your entire system and family pictures, videos, music, and important documents stored on your home PC" Basically, Acronis True Image allows you to backup your hard disk (or part of it). You have two main options: 1) Backup your entire hard disk drive including the operating system applications, user settings, and all data. Use the image to restore your PC to a known working state without any reinstallation. 2) Backup and restore individual files and folders (e.g.My Documents folder or a specific file, like your latest tax return). A software wizard walks you through all of the steps. Hope this helps a bit
