Thracian Posted 20 October 2006 Share Posted 20 October 2006 I'm beginning to wonder if Alan Sheehan is on the road to nowhere. This time last year I had lots of sympathy with his situation. In City's winning cup team against Bury, helping to spark a revival against Bolton, playing soundly in the win over Sheffield Wednesday and then - bang, he's inexplicably dropped and has never really recovered. After an okay first month at Mansfield it's been anything but since and last weekend saw him substituted in the first half after getting injured, giving away a goal and playing his part in a woeful first half. Once he'd gone Mansfield improved and, with Shirtliffe facing calls for his scalp, his players saved the game with a rousing comeback. How fortunes change. Sheehan could be back at Leicester soon - not to threaten Nils place but because they probably won't want him even at Mansfield unless things suddenly improve dramatically. Remarkable. Leicester rated him. Shirtliffe clearly rated him when he was at Leicester - and enough to be delighted to sign him on loan for Mansfield and now he's ignominiously subbed. Big question now. Can he turn the wheel once more or is it locked on the path to oblivion?

Cheese Me Posted 21 October 2006 Share Posted 21 October 2006 Isn't 'mea culpa' 'my fault'?. I know Thrac loves talking about Sheehan but if it goes t!ts up for him it's hardly his fault.
