i'm feeling retro and fancy playing GTA but i keep getting this message:

advice on what to do would be most welcome.

ps if i click 'ignore' it just stops the installation anyway

I haven't seen this message in many years.

Usually happens when you are trying to run 16-bit stuff on 32-bit Windows versions.

Try the following:

1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

2. Double-click System, click the Advanced tab, and then click Environment Variables.

3. In the User variables for User_Name list, click TMP, and then click Edit.

4. In the Variable value box, type c:\winnt\temp, and then click OK three times.

5. Close Control Panel.
