Thracian Posted 25 November 2006 Share Posted 25 November 2006 Rumours are circulating that Milan Mandaric is having second thoughts about his bid for Leicester. Apparently after going through the books he had staff at Pride Park trying to equate what was down in those and what was out on the field. His staff apparently rang him to say he might have been given the wrong books. The big problem was reference to 30 footballers in the City first team squad. Mandarics staff could only find nine they could put that name to. The story now is that Mandaric is wondering if he's backing the right sport at all. He's somehow got hold of video from the City fans catering enclosure at Derby and is wondering about turning the Walkers into the Madison Square Garden of the Midlands. An insider said: "There wasn't much action on the pitch but some of the scraps outside the burger bar should have been broadcast to the nation. Now, instead of Earnshaw, Koumas and company Mandaric is said to be most interested in signing heavyweights, middleweights, lightweights and welterweights. It is understood the some of City's lesser performing players may be offered alternative jobs as sparring partners for the new Walkers Crunch stable of boxers. This story could run and run - which is more than can be said for one or two of our players today.
