Wils Posted 24 December 2006 Author Posted 24 December 2006 WTF unlucky mate, you best be getting triple pay at least No way am I Double. Is minging, but i suppose i wouldnt be doing anything else from 7 till 1 anyway. Home just in time for my Dinner
JoeyB Posted 24 December 2006 Posted 24 December 2006 my dad is so i tried to but they wouldnt have me if i was i'd be paid £5.57 x 3 = 16.71 per hour good for a 16 year old
Rincewind Posted 24 December 2006 Posted 24 December 2006 I am. 6-6 @ around 5.35 ph (double) I was told that Xmas day should be triple by law. Whether the security industry are exempt from these laws that protect the working man I dont know. I do know that I have had a lot of short weeks and just told they are doing their best to find me shifts. 18 hours this week 72 hours next week. I'll be knackered this time next week. Just noticed, theres a lot of white bits floating about on this site. Must have a hole in me roof.
Joe. Posted 24 December 2006 Posted 24 December 2006 I would hate it to work on Christmas day. It only comes once a year and I like to make the most of it
lookwhaticando Posted 25 December 2006 Posted 25 December 2006 [un?]fortunately not. I do, however, work boxing day - for regular pay. No bonus for me, sadly. Christmas has lost the novelty it once had - so I wouldn't complain too much about working a Christmas day shift. Perhaps when I have kids of my own, I won't say that... but until then I'm just not interested.
Random Burglar Posted 25 December 2006 Posted 25 December 2006 Merry Christmas all Does anyone know pay laws for bank holidays? Someone told me it was double by law. Im working boxing day 9-4 but am only getting my usual rate of pay.
holly Posted 25 December 2006 Posted 25 December 2006 think its bad people having to work over crimbo i dont think it should happen! be well eary wouldnt it, no one having to work on crimbo day! everyone would be empty
Wils Posted 25 December 2006 Author Posted 25 December 2006 Ahh ive finished allready so its all good.
TornadoShaunUK Posted 25 December 2006 Posted 25 December 2006 Unlucky mate, I don't usually wind up doing much on Xmas day but that doesn't mean I'd work it even for triple pay... I am in on boxing day though at time and a half.. =/ Hopefully we'll have an early day...
Rincewind Posted 25 December 2006 Posted 25 December 2006 If no-one worked on hristmas day who would stop you when you ar drink-driving-speeding? And who would patch you up after you crash? I worked in name only. Took some crimbo presents to unwrap, wore a jumper that wasn't regulation colour, wore a xmas tie. Also took a bottle of Belgium beer with me which I found out was 10.5%. Nice. Watched Hogfather and a double bill Night of the living dead and return of the living dead which the dvd that it was recorded on stopped about 5 minutes before the end and went onto Johnathan Ross which should have been erased. The OS is not working. Cant see the point of closing it nobody keeps it up to date or moderates it anyway
Guest Posted 25 December 2006 Posted 25 December 2006 I don't think working on Bank holidays entitles you to double/triple pay; it's down to the goodwill of the employer, is my understanding. I could be wrong.
