Why didn't they wait until after the 3rd round matches to decide who will play the friday live game No they'd decided beforehand that if Birmingham won or lost it would be played on the Friday night and if Birmingham drew they would play it on the Saturday night.

Birmingham later agreed to play there replay v Newcastle on the Wedneday, 2 days before the game v Leicester.
