disheartened fan Posted 9 January 2007 Posted 9 January 2007 9 January 2007 MUCKY MIKE DOES A DIRTY DEN Ex-Celt's phone sex snaps shame Exclusive by Lachlan Mackinnon TROUBLED former Celtic star Mike Galloway has been sending sleazy snaps of himself to women - after trawling phone lines for dates. The revelations come just months after ex-EastEnder Leslie Grantham - Dirty Den in the soap - hit the headlines over explicit webcam shots sent from his dressing room over the internet to a woman. Recovering alcoholic Galloway, 41 - who describes himself as "very honest and open" on one chat line - used a mobile phone to take and send pictures of himself in an aroused state. One woman who has seen the shocking photos said: "These pictures leave very little to the imagination. They are absolutely disgusting." Last night, red-faced Galloway told the Record: "It was just a bit of fun. It was stupid." The ex-Celtic and Hearts midfielder - who was capped once for Scotland and now lives in Troon, Ayrshire - has been sober for the past 10 months and says he is a reformed character. On one phone chat line, Galloway introduces himself, saying: "Hi ladies, this is Mike from the west coast of Scotland. I'm five foot eleven with light brown hair and piercing blue eyes. "I'm very honest and open and only want to hear from other people who are also very honest." A woman who has chatted to the former footballer said: "He talks about how he's turned his life around but still talks a lot about the old days when he was a big name with Celtic." Galloway says he turned to the bottle when a horrific car crash ended his playing career in 1995 while on loan to Leicester City. Firefighters took an hour to cut him free from the mangled wreckage before he was rushed to hospital. His legs were smashed and he spent six weeks in a coma fighting for his life after suffering appalling head and pelvis injuries. The dad-of-two, who has daughters of 17 and 12 from a previous marriage, was given a £200,000 testimonial at Celtic Park inMarch 1996. But he fell into deep depression and was eventually admitted to Ailsa Hospital in Ayr for psychiatric help. He said that, at his lowest ebb, he would drink three bottles of vodka a day. Galloway ended up in jail at Christmas in 2004 after a furious bust-up with his third wife Lorraine, 41, just days after their honeymoon. The marriage ended last year after just 18 months following a series of boozefuelled rows. Galloway got his driving licence back last year, halfway through an eight-year ban.
renards Posted 9 January 2007 Posted 9 January 2007 Good player if I rememeber correctly, big powerful defender/midfield Maybe we should be grateful for the effort he put in whilst at Leicester and sympathetic to his current problems/ state of mind possibly brought on by the crash. Showing your meat and two veg to a consenting (I'm sure she knew the risk with web cams) adult is hardly crime of the century If it was against children he'd be moved to a house around the corner
Thracian Posted 9 January 2007 Posted 9 January 2007 Why don't they leave the guy alone. He's a sad, sad, shadow of a man who once had some relevence. He's been a long time gone from the only stage it was worth him standing on and has now joined the massed ranks of older men who have to cope with being inconsequencial. Give him some peace, and perhaps a friend who can convince him to do something with his life that gives him back some self esteem. People are wonderful when they're in the news giving to Child Aid or Famine Relief. But they can be shits too when they get the chance of some easy money at someone else's expense. The guy needs help not a public kick in the teeth. And that's been known for a long, long time. .
