Rincewind Posted 17 March 2007 Posted 17 March 2007 Theres been a lot of drinking where I've been this week. A lot of it by tickers which is not entirely true as tickers who attend beer festivals buy the drink then pour most of it into plastic bottles. What they do with it when they get home I don't know. Their houses probably consist of cupboards full of labelled plastic bottles in alphabetacal order and cross-referanced with time and date. It's been fun but hard work. I've even served beer, something I've never done before. Been getting bed after one in the morning because there is all the cleaning up after the punters have finally left. But we get free beer and food and working behind the bar there is the oppotunity to have a little sample first. As for responsible drinking I am sure the majority of people know the meaning of this. It is only when something happens that certain people notice and cause the paranoia about it. I don't know if we'll get more through the door because of St Patricks day as beer festavals are attended by mainly real ale enthusiasts but be aware that if anyone off here want to go the beer selection is going down as its drank dy. What the customers don't drink the volunteer staff will have a good attempt to finish off after final closing.
