Mr Happy Posted 7 October 2007 Posted 7 October 2007 Heerenveen 9 - 0 Heracles Almelo Afonso Alves 10, 17, 19, 68, 70, 75, 77 Bo Storm 50, 81 This may be the reason that Alves was rumoured to be heading to either chelsea or middlesboro earlier this year. Given that the Dutch league may not be up to premiership standards and the opposition may not even be of derby's standards(?) but still to score that amount of goals from one player over the course of 90mins (give or take injury time) is quite incredible. It'd be interesting to know what the currant record for scoring goals in a match (either scoring upto the point of being subbed or starting the game and playing 90mins) is by any one player and who holds it and also if anybody knows of any other players that have scored as many or more than Alves did against heracles??

We should sign Bo Storm then.

They can score without de Vries then
WetFlannel Posted 7 October 2007 Posted 7 October 2007 Alves is quality, surprised he hasnt moved to a bigger club yet. Will definately be on the way to Italy, Spain or England soon...
Nationwider Posted 7 October 2007 Posted 7 October 2007 It looks like he only plays in short bursts. Both his first half hat-trick and his second half quadruple came in 9 minute spells. To me, that's just plain inconsistent. What does he do for the remaining 36 minutes - tie his shoelaces?
