foxad Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 My laptop power supply unit is making a crackling noise when connected. Anyone know what could have caused this?
Wozski Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 May be a loose connection or something. Maybe you should ask Santa for a ew one or just take it back to where you bought it from!! Otherwise, chuck a pillow over the top of itm and Hey Presto, crackling sound disappears!!!
the_bowman Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 old mouldy crisps in the socket... clean them out! On a serious note is everything pushed in properly? because sometimes if it isn't all connected properly it can spark a little and crackle, so that might be it.

Sounds like a faulty connection, i dont recomend using it to much unless its entirely neccesary, check that everything is fully pushed into the required sockets, and if the problem persists, then get your local computer shop to have a look at it. or buy a new one your probs looking at about £20-£30 for a new power cable. make sure you note the exact cable number, laptop model number, and power output before going in to buy a new one. Or alternatively take the lead with you to your local PC world.
