somebum Posted 12 March 2008 Posted 12 March 2008 Firstly, I tried putting this on the 606 website over at the BBC, but they just would not allow the article for some stupid reason. I think Holloway is NOT the man for us. When I heard that City were interested, the same thoughts ran through my head as the day I heard Levein was joining. As a city fan, you just get the 6th sense that the man in question is not going to be any good. To me, Holloway seems way to interested in being the great 'philosopher', a reputation he has built up thanks to mates on the BBC and spending to much time writing poncing articles and forming his silly 'Ollyisms'. He goes on BBC and you can tell he cant wait to get them out of his mouth, he probably hopes that he can always fall back on his media career. He blames EVERYTHING but himself. It's either bad luck, bad ref, a bad miss etc. Never has he blamed himself. He now has at least half of the playing side to himself, that is, he brought them. But he still cant get the results. I don't accept that we need stability - well ok, we do - but what if that stability is going DOWN rather than UP? Because the way we are going, we are League one next season. Other managers quickly turn clubs around; look at Davies at Derby - and he had little money. Olley has the money (well, a fivers worth because Mandaric aint spent a penny in comparison to what he has in his wallet) and he still cant do anything. I am starting to think Mandaric has this in his plan all along - kill the club and sell the land to developers. Holloway must go, he must go.
Eastern Fox Posted 12 March 2008 Posted 12 March 2008 I am starting to think Mandaric has this in his plan all along - kill the club and sell the land to developers. Don't be ridiculous, it's absurd to suggest that. It's in MM's interest that the club does well so he can recoup some of his investment by selling it on a later date, like he did with Portsmouth. It's not like the Filbert Way plot is prime real estate anyway. I agree that IH has done a very bad job, but sacking him at this stage would probably just rule out any chance we have of staying up.
somebum Posted 12 March 2008 Author Posted 12 March 2008 Well I was speaking half jokingly - but you never know. Still, when the fans opinion starts to turn no doubt he will recount a war story
