Nosowicz Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 It has taken me some time to be able to put into words what I feel after yesterdays game and the ridicoulus comments made after the game on the radio. We started the game very edgy and nervous and never got going, most of our players showed no passion or commitment and were there because it was thier job as oppossed to enjoying themselves. It was as a poor a performance as we have had this season, and this against what was clearly the poorest team to visit our the Walker's this season. As the game went on, we got worse, in terms of nerves, and simply were not good enough in any way. On this form, we will struggle to beat Barnsley, have a fight against Wednesday (where anything could happen) and will not be able to get a result away against Stoke, who may need a result to get the title. So the optimistic me say's we can get 4pt from the last 3 games and enable us to finish on 52 points After listening to the phone-in with Steve Walsh and how disapointed and nervous everyone was with the comments, I was extremely disapointed and concerned with the interviews which went unchallenged when stating someing along the line of "if we carry on putting in performances and effort like we did today, we will be OK" - amazing and not in the real world. If the management and players really think they can play like that and get enough points to stay up - I for one am amazed at the apethetic attitude the club has. I have not heard an interview with mr holloway, as I am still recovering from his quote some 3 weeks ago "The time for talk is over, now is the time for action". Mr Holloway, when is the time for action, please do not offend us with excuses straight from the David Please book of pathetic excuses, just do your job and organise a team of players to fight to the final whistle in the spirit of managers and teams years before you. Looking at other teams around us, I am struggling to see survival and we now MUST rely on others slipping up Sheff Weds 48pts + 5pts from Plymouth (a win), Blackpool (a draw) Leics (a defeat) and Norwich a draw = 53pt prediction Coventry 49pts + 4 pts from Colchester (a win), Wolves (a loss) and Charlkton (a draw) = 53pt prediction Soton 50pts + 4 pts from Burnley (a win), West brom (a loss) and Sheff Utd (a draw = 54pt predition Blackpool 50pts + 3 pts from Sheff Weds (a draw), Plymouth (a draw) and Watford (a draw) = 53pt prediction This means with our current 48pts that we need 6pts (or 5 if we have a positive goal difference in the last 3 games) meaning we need to beat Barnsley and Sheff Weds, as getting a result at the potential league winners on the last day is not really on, is it. I am hoping that my predictions are wrong, for the other teams as I cannot see us getting 2 wins from 3 games and it really hurts me to say that if Sheff Weds win on Monday night that we are quite rightly clear favorites to be relegated
davieG Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 I've moved your first post into the post match thread which I would suggest is a right and proper place for it to be.
