Mr Happy Posted 13 May 2008 Posted 13 May 2008 bottom six is a different matter , gretna/st mirren would cope in the conference north. I've actually been several times to watch St Mirren and I disagree with you, they could just about cut it in lower championship/league1. They were, on all times I've seen them, no worse than city this season plus they've some decent players franco miranda, andy dorman and garry brady which could cut it in shambles of a team such as ours. As much as we all love to knock spl and scottish standards sometimes we'll find they are probably better than what we've been watching this season.
Vardinhio Posted 18 May 2008 Posted 18 May 2008 We have a large percentage of our fans who think we are FAR better than we are. It's quite ridiculous really. We are no better than average Scottish SPL sides at this moment and to be honest I think we would have struggled badly if we were in that league this season. We are not good anymore! Which is why we signed and played Plymouths fourth choice striker. It's not being pesimistic, it's the truth!

Remember, this is the league which currently counts Mark McGhee and Craig Levein among its top four managers, and the likes of Stephen Hughes and Mark DeVries in its top four teams. Obviously we'd be way below the Old Firm, but we could have been competitive against any of the other SPL teams.
