hibeeleicester Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Im back Was never able to log in for some reason , kept getting new passwords but they just wouldnt let me in did i get banned? Anyway a friends source tells me leicester are after benjelloun (benji). He hasnt done well this season ecspecially after his injury and ramadam , he was on fire at the start of the season.. Leicester want to buy him but down want to pay hibs ridiculous asking price , however hibs are more favourable to a loan deal because they know benji has the quality he just needs to get his confidence back , leicester are still thinking about the loan deal.

act smiley Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Not seen the player in question, but to be honest the SPL is no worse than the league we'll be in next season!
hibeeleicester Posted 5 May 2008 Author Posted 5 May 2008 You obviously havnt been watching the top half pf the league , the run in is brilliant, Celtic & Rangers for the title And 3 points splits hibs , aberdeen , dundee utd , motherwell all going for the uefa cup spot... on his day benjelloun is a top championship striker or lower premier league striker.... unfortunately he has been shit for us this season!

Yes but the standard of the Scottish league - bar Celtic and Rangers is like League 2/conference standard.
hibeeleicester Posted 5 May 2008 Author Posted 5 May 2008 this is one thing thst pisses me of ... if it was conference standard then teams wouldnt be taking points off the uefa finalists and CL quater finalists? and its happening on a more often basis ..... bottom six is a different matter , gretna/st mirren would cope in the conference north.
Mickey O'Neil Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 We f uckin lost in Scotland pre-season Welcome back dude.
barmy76uk Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 We f uckin lost in Scotland pre-season Welcome back dude. Such a great league the spl motherwell who are 3rd and dundee utd who are 4th got 5k for there match and hearts got 4k against falkirk, that is conference standard. These spl teams are shocking including celtic and rangers with everyone elses cast offs. Celtic and rangers bottom half of championship and teams like hibs, aberdeen dunndee utd etc are about the size of oxford and mansfield and conference standard
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Benji is actually a really good creative midfielder. When he is on song he is truly influential, as demonstrated in Hibs 5-1 CIS Cup win last season. I'd take him on a six-month loan deal and see where it goes from there. True, the SPL isn't that high a standard but there are certain individuals that could carve out decent careers for themselcves south of the border.
Finnegan Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 You lot are in for a massive culture shock if you think the SPL is really that bad. Wait 'til you see League One. I'd snap up Benji in seconds. Far better than any of the bollocks that masquerades as strikers for our club. I'd rather Stevie Fletcher, mind. Can we have him?

What you mean like Steven Hughes,Maybury<de Vries and co and Ivan Sproule,Murphy and Anthony Stokes who has been rated Sunderland worst striker ever who scored for fun in the spl in a very poor side! Or John Sutton or that fud that joined southend from motherwell, Lee Naylor what a load of tosh he is but Celtic think he is great says it all really but then again spl standard is so poor and all the teams are so skint with crowds of less than 15k some only 2 or 3k its a joke,if it wasnt for the irish rangers and celtic would have no fans!

As I said, certain individiuals can carve out careers in England. As for the teams being poor, that may be, but in Scotland alot more money is put into producing young talent, you need only to look at the average age of the Scottish national team to see that a new wave of talent is coming through the ranks (Gordon, Brown, Thompson, Hutton). Thus, because not every team in Scotland inputs all of there funds into foreign imports, they have a team created mainly of Scottish players hungry for success, and the league certainly has a real Scottish feel, unlike the Premier League, which has become a worldwide brand in recent years. Just because Scottish teams like Hibs don't continuously raid the transfer market, doesn't mean they don't have any cash. Hibs themsleves recently spent £5 million on a new academy development, more than emphasising their focus on up and coming talent. Point made.

Fletcher is being linked with a move to Real Madrid , you may think this is a load of bollocks but there is a video on one of the newspapaer websites (the times maybe?) interviewing head of youth at MAdrid , they rate him one of the best youngsters in europe... Since all the hype hes been shit .... If we got Steve Fletcher I'd drive up to Edinburgh to fetch him myself. What about Beuzelin from Hibs? Quite influential for them at times. WBA are in for him and have been since mowbary moved... ill also add that if you look at average attendances in scotland its alot better than the EPL/championship if you scale it down , ten times more people in England therfore if you times all the scottish average attendances by 10 then they are pretty high

MAy i also add hibs are the best finacialy run club in scotland(britian?) we are running on a profit..... Kenny miller £2mil Garry O'connor £1.6mil Riordan £250k (we got robbed) Brown £4.5mil (soon to be 5.5mil) Thomson £2.5mil Whittakaer £2mill Murphy £2million Delacruz £2.6mill and theres more....... we are also using most of our money now to re-develop the east terracing which would mean no more money is needing to be spent off the pitch therefore any profit made will go straight back into the team....

tartanowl Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Benjelloun is a decent player. He'd be a good signing for League 1. Fletcher as previously mentioned is a far better player. I also like their left sided player Ryan Stevenson he seems to have very good potential. For those saying the SPL is conference standard you couldn't be further from the truth. Have you been watching Roman Bednar this season? He couldn't hit a barn door in the SPL but he's set the CCC alight. Also look at Jason Scotland for Swansea in League 1. Again he didn't score much in the SPL. A number of SPL teams could easily compete in the CCC or upper stages of League 1. Those that are saying otherwise clearly don't watch Scottish football.

tartanowl Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 ednar was sent to west brom because hearts couldnt pay his wages hes scored a few goas in a tite winning team!far too fat for the prem! He's scored 15 goals in 23 games in the CCC. Also he was sent to West Brom because he asked to leave the club not because of wages. He had an altercation with Vladimir Romanov in the pre-season training camp in Austria. Romanov and Bednar were play boxing and he got hit hard. They supposedly fell out over it. He also had horrendous injury problems at Tynecastle so Romanov was happy to let him go. Despite being a Wednesday season ticket holder I live in Edinburgh and Hearts are my local team. The boxing video is below. It's quite funny.
