LeeCovFox Posted 19 May 2008 Posted 19 May 2008 I was responding to a post detailing Turner's record over many seasons. It does seem odd that a manager who won no trophies can be preferred to one who won two. I think normally you would be right, but I honestly believe that Turner has done a better job this season than Ince. I do not doubt that Ince's achievements this term are worthy of praise, but he had far more backing financially, and had a much stronger base upon which to build given how close Martin Allen took Milton Keynes to promotion last season. As for Turner having taken Hereford down, the club was in dire financial trouble at the time, and needed to sell off many players in order to remain solvent. He has done an excellent job to rebuild the club and to take it beyond where it was was when he joined all those years ago. I am no Turner fan, my uncle played under him at Wolves so I know him to be an utter arse, but he does deserve all the plaudits he gets for the job he has done at Hereford United.
