Fez of Mahrez Posted 12 June 2008 Posted 12 June 2008 Anyone been to see Stevie Wonder before? Does he do a wide range of stuff from the Motown of the 60s to the funk of the 70s to the schmaltz of the 80s? I'm hoping it's a bit more of the former two and less of the latter. What about the O2? Any good or just like your average big arena?

A mate of mine went to see him in NYC last year and although being one of his heroes he was disappointed, not so much with the show but he reckons vocally it was very poor. He played stuff from 60s to present day but vocally he's passed it. This is just his opinion mind though I would say he knows what he's on about as he's a professional singer himself.

I'd like to think that wouldn't bother me too much as long as it wasn't all "I Just Called To Say I Love You"-type stuff. But at £65 a ticket, I'd quite like it to be pretty good vocally. Having said that, I doubt my standards are as high as those of a professional singer. Just that the opportunity arose and it felt like one of those I had to "tick off", so to speak. I'm still gutted that I never saw James Brown live so couldn't turn this down.

It's safe to say that most people don't go to watch SW to hear him do tracks from any album after Hotter Than July and you'd think he'd be aware of this Have a good one though I saw him at the Nelson Mandela concert at Wembley in 1988 but can't remember much about it so wouldn't mind seeing him again.
