davieG Posted 8 February 2009 Share Posted 8 February 2009 From OS Leicester City defender Joe Mattock has been promoted from the England under 19 squad to Stuart Pearce's under 21 side to face Ecuador in Spain on Tuesday, February 10. Mattock had travelled to Southampton to meet up with the under 19 squad following Leicester's 0-0 draw with Oldham Athletic at the Walkers Stadium on Saturday, But he will now join up with Premiership stars such as Steven Taylor (Newcastle United), Aaron Lennon (Tottenham Hotspur), Micah Richards (Manchester City) and former Leicester team-mates Richard Stearman (Wolverhampton Wanderers) and Mark Davies (Bolton Wanderers) ahead of the game. Mattock currently has four England under 21 caps to his name. The match will be played at Malaga FC and will kick off at 9pm local time. It will be broadcast live on Setanta Sports.
