davieG Posted 15 February 2009 Share Posted 15 February 2009 Leicester City's academy side returned to winning ways with a convincing 3-1 victory over Watford at the Belvoir Drive training ground on Saturday. Goals from Billy Kee, Robbie Burns (pictured) and Elliott Chamberlain secured the points after the home side recovered from an early scare. The Hornets broke the deadlock inside ten minutes as the Foxes were unable to clear following a good save from Robert Ambrusics. However the lead only lasted nine minutes as good wing play from Chamberlain resulted in a fine pass to Kee who made no mistake from inside the penalty area. Leicester took the lead five minutes before the break when Cian Bolger connected with a Joe Cobb corner and Burns was on hand to tap the ball in from close range. And the lead was doubled in the 48th minute - Chamberlain found space inside the box to arrow his shot into the net and put the game beyond the visitors. Substitute Adi Yussef could have added to Leicester's tally in the closing stages but his daisy-cutter was well saved. Steve Beaglehole's side return to action next Saturday when they travel to Cardiff City.
