Stuliasz Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 Has anyone ever done one? I'm off there soon for a week on a trip inclusive of flights/food/drink and 10 excursions and was wondering if anyone could handout useful tidbits of advice for the naive tourist.

Take a plentiful supply of Dio-calm. Never done one myself, but I know several people that have. The heat, combined with dubious standards of food preparation it seems, can play havoc with the digestive system. Other than that, it all sounds good. Oh, and it can - obviously - be ridiculously hot on the deck areas, but a few people have commented to me about how over-air-conditioned some of the ships are, especially the cabins at night, and they've been frozen on-board. So might be worthwhile packing a lightweight jumper or two as well. I think, when on excursions, the local traders can be rather over-zealous and you can feel pretty hassled. But, having never experienced Egypt first-hand, I'll leave someone else to comment on whether this really is the case.
