Part Of The Crowd Posted 4 February 2010 Posted 4 February 2010 Balanced Cables could be what you need then. Try doing it with nothing running in the background as well.
lcfcsnow Posted 4 February 2010 Posted 4 February 2010 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Xlr-connectors.jpg I have exactly that for the mic recording though. I don't think its the connecters as I've tried two, for mic and guitar and both had same result. So its something between my interface and PC
Part Of The Crowd Posted 4 February 2010 Posted 4 February 2010 It all depends on what is inside the cables rather than the connectors as to whether it is balanced or not. I'd just double check and find out as unbalanced cables are susceptible to noise.

Did I buy the wrong one or is that fine?
Part Of The Crowd Posted 4 February 2010 Posted 4 February 2010 To be honest, with a 2m cable I can't see it causing that level of distortion even if it is unbalanced. You could always e-mail Martin and query them about any previous problems with the product with the model of computer/specs you have and any potential problems with the product. They will probably be a bit more knowledgeable about anything to help you with than we are on here. Hope everything works out OK!
lcfcsnow Posted 7 February 2010 Posted 7 February 2010 Tried it on 2 different computers, same outcome? Sending it back. Going to try another one, recommend me a good quality interface please.
