Robertson's future has been hanging in the balance, and the final straw has come on Monday as he departed Tynecastle. After reviewing the under-fire manager's position, the club's board offered Robertson a new position as assistant head coach in a revised structure. Robertson found the new role to be unacceptable and has instead decided to leave The Jambos. Hearts chairman George Foulkes was said to be disappointed that they could not find an agreement to keep hold of Robertson in some capacity. The decision brings Robertson's seven-month spell as head coach to an end and the Edinburgh side will now start looking for a replacement. "Heart of Midlothian Football Club has today parted company with head coach John Robertson," read a club statement. "The club has now started the process of recruiting a new head coach."
