AmericanScott Posted 16 January 2010 Posted 16 January 2010 I get the train to Sheffield every weekend, costs me £21 return. Must invest in a railcard soon! The price comes down to like £17.

Guest Posted 16 January 2010 Posted 16 January 2010 I get the train to Sheffield every weekend, costs me £21 return.Must invest in a railcard soon! The price comes down to like £17. Split the journey; Leicester - Derby = £8.70 Derby - Sheffield = £8.50 Total = £17.20 Leicester - Nottingham = £8.70 Nottingham - Sheffield = £10.90 Total = £19.60 That's off peak returns at full adult prices. You can buy the tickets from the ticket machines at Leicester, and catch the same train through to Sheffield.
Floating Fox Posted 18 January 2010 Posted 18 January 2010 To the original poster...Book Gloucester - Tamworth and Tamworth to Burton... 2 seperate tickets but as Lisa says above you can stay on the same train and can pick both tickets up at Gloucester.. also National rail's new website is great for finding cheap tickets
