When is it for?? And is it direct train or do you have to changeover? First thoughts were that it doesn't sound too bad.

I'ts direct and it will be Wed 7th. I don't get how i can get from Gloucester to Tamworth train station for only £8.00. I only wanna go to Burton because, i can get back easier and i don't know where anything is in Tamworth

Shrenchel Posted 1 October 2009 Posted 1 October 2009 Single or return? If it's single, that's robbery. If it's return, you can still get it 5 quid than that if you book two singles, probably 10 quid cheaper if you break the journey up a bit when booking.
Gav_LCFC Posted 1 October 2009 Author Posted 1 October 2009 I will be going on sunday, so i dunno if the ticket will be at mine in time?
potter3 Posted 1 October 2009 Posted 1 October 2009 I will be going on sunday, so i dunno if the ticket will be at mine in time? You can pick it up at the station, or pay for quicker delivery. It's normally cheaper if you don't travel between certain hours, as that's peak time.
Gav_LCFC Posted 2 October 2009 Author Posted 2 October 2009 You can pick it up at the station, or pay for quicker delivery. It's normally cheaper if you don't travel between certain hours, as that's peak time. I may do that then, pick it up at the station.
MPH Posted 2 October 2009 Posted 2 October 2009 I may do that then, pick it up at the station. are you travelling alone? if there is 4 or more of you travelling together then there is a little known ticket called the group saver that MOST ( not all) train companies still do... 4 people travel, you only pay for 2 but you must promise to all travel together.

Really find this train malark confusing itmight be for each and it might just be one way too... i got stung by that on the 4th when i went to london... make sure you get to the end of the process where you put your card details in... that will tell you the total you have to pay.... before that though it will show you the cheapest times to travel too.. travelling during peak times to london makes it a crazy price...

Fosse Boy Posted 15 January 2010 Posted 15 January 2010 Think I might go and watch Michael Portillo and his Great Train Journeys on BBC2 now. Not quite sure why I've found this series so interesting. I think I'm either a massive railway anorak or I just love watching Portillo looking like a twat.
