Solihullfox Posted 19 May 2005 Posted 19 May 2005 I have just found out that a friend from across the road died today. She had been fighting breast cancer for over a year. Karen was only 35 and a great lady who despite her problems helped me last year when I was unable to do much due to my broken leg. I've just been outside playing football with Lee her husband and Jake her 10 year old son. Just as Jake was told to go in Lee told me the news. I can't believe it. Utterly shocked and feel so sorry for all Karen's family. Sorry to neg people out, just gobsmacked.

It's something you need to talk about with your family and close friends.
kerryh Posted 20 May 2005 Posted 20 May 2005 That is truly awful - It really makes you put things into perspective. Get on with life and enjoy it because you never know what's around the corner.
Stuliasz Posted 20 May 2005 Posted 20 May 2005 My condolences soli. A similar experience happened in my life a month or two ago. A friend of mine our age died of leukemia, but what it has made me realise is that you need to make every day count and as kerry said get on with life and enjoy it. I know they are cliches but they are damn good ones. Also, in my experience it helps just to talk to people about it so you can get some of the emotion out of your system.
Guest Posted 20 May 2005 Posted 20 May 2005 Condolences to you, your friend and his family. Life is cruel sometimes, but make the most of what you've got, that's what I say.
